Suda 51's new horror game for EA will finally be unveiled soon

It hasn’t even started yet but this year’s installment of the Tokyo Game Show is already guaranteed to be the best.  Perhaps making such a proclaim may be a bit selfish on my part but I can’t help but feel “Sh!t Just Got Real” when I hear that game designer Suda 51 will finally premier his project under the EA Partners label at a TGS event on September 15th.

NBA Jam for the Wii will be shipping without a major feature

When EA announced that they were reviving NBA Jam I think everyone immediately sprung forth from whatever they were doing and performed a flaming slam dunk. Even with the game destined on the Wii, well at least originally, the excitement level for the game was high as hell and justifiably so based on what I played at E3.

EA Sports MMA demo enters the ring later this month

After months of anticipation, intrigue and hype, Electronic Arts’ foray into the world of mixed martial arts is almost upon us.  It’s been a long time in the making but in less than a month EA Sports MMA will be available to gamers out there who want an alternative to THQ’s UFC Undisputed 2010.  But even with all the videos released so far there’s been some worry that EA Sports MMA may not have what it takes to become the champion of MMA video games.

The action shifts to the sunny desert in this new Need for Speed Hot Pursuit video

When the weather’s nice and the sun is out it’s always terrific to take a drive in a luxury vehicle.  I’m of course not referring to personal experience as I hate leaving my apartment and am forever bound to buses and trains since I don’t own a car (inside fact: don’t have a license either).  I prefer my luxury car driving to occur in the world of video games since I can enjoy the virtual sun (the real thing is too annoying on my sensitive eyes) and I can become a speed demon.

Is this the car roster of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit?

EA and Criterion has been quite mum on what vehicles we can expect from their Need for Speed Hot Pursuit relaunch. So far we know of a few of the cars which will be included in the game which include a Lamborghini, a Porsche and an Audi.

Shank [Review]

Overall Feeling:
Shank is a game with terrific art design that’s well produced but doesn’t have everything at optimum levels as far the gameplay side of things is concerned. Klei has laid down a good foundation for the side-scrolling action of Shank, but things don’t feel as entirely fleshed out as they could be and ultimately the last few stages get really repetitive. Despite the gameplay issues, Shank still feels like a fresh experience in the side-scrolling genre and should be checked out by those looking for an entertaining brawler.
The Pros:
The comic book/cartoon inspired art design is amazing, both in the cutscenes and the in-game visuals. Shank has a nice arsenal of weapons at his disposal which are all fun to use. Even though it’s short, the co-op mode is fun. Fun boss battles all of which surpass the standard run and gun mechanics.
The Cons:
Combat doesn’t feel as deep as it could be. The slight button input delay can be slightly annoying at times. The game gets really repetitive towards the end with only a few standout sections. Unless you look online, the game doesn’t tell you what the criteria are for unlocking the bonus costumes.
ShogunGamer.com Rating :
7

Most games these days often rely on style over substance. Of course such a thing is to be expected at times since video games are often meant to be showpieces of amazing graphics and awe-inspiring art design.  That’s not to say every video game follows the Michael Bay mantra of “blow sh!t up, have cool camera angles and everything else is just fluff” but that’s most often the case these days.  Klei Entertainment’s side-scrolling brawler Shank is a game that’s high on the style and originality department.

Hands-on with Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

Over the years as video games grew in popularity and became comparable to big budget films, the events to promote these games also grew. The video game industry definitely has a reputation for putting on elaborate events, as evident by the sensory overload that is E3. But now it’s almost common to have several major events for a video game, often prior to the release in an effort to build up hype.

Crysis 2 multiplayer footage takes the battle to the rooftops of New York

Crysis was a major hit on the PC, even if half the gamers who played the game weren’t able to reach the maximum performance levels to fully enjoy the jaw dropping graphics. But now it’s time for Crysis 2 to hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 and given the flooded market of fps games available, Crysis may have a tough battle in terms of breaking through to certain gamers.

Like its original, Dragon Age 2 will be released on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Check out a thrilling new Need for Speed Hot Pursuit video

I don’t think it has quite settled in yet, but this November we’re getting a brand new Need for Speed Hot Pursuit game. Yes, in a mere two and a half months we’ll be able to drive around in a Lamborghini and recklessly drive as we avoid the cops.  To say I’m excited at this prospect is an understatement, especially after getting some hands-on time with the game recently.  But now my excitement level has reached its peak with the release of a new gameplay trailer.
