Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson could soon be a submarine captain

After stepping out of the squared-circle in favor of doing movies it seems like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could be stepping into his biggest role yet. After starring in a variety of action, comedic and family friendly roles it seems like Dwayne is ready for a more serious role as he is rumored to have been cast in Disney’s upcoming 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine isn't the film we've been waiting for

Overall Feeling:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine isn't a complete mess by any means, instead it's just a film that has a lot of wasted potential and is brought down by scenes that don't have the level of polish that is needed.

The Pros:

Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber turn in good performances as Wolverine and Saberooth. Some of the action has some good parts to it. And it's nice to see Gambit finally in a movie.

The Cons:

A weak story that is filled with stuff that will result in headshaking. The directing is fine but lacks a certain punch or level of style to it. For some reason the special effects are pretty poor and seem to be missing a layer of polish and detail.

Ever since seeing Hugh Jackman take on the role of James Logan aka “Wolverine” in the first X-Men movie and the subsequent growth that both he and the character had in X-Men 2 fans have desperately wanted to see the character get his own film.  Fans wanted to see the cigar chomping, leather jacket wearing, bub calling, feral sensing, and claw popping man’s man get his story told as there were still a lot of unanswered questions after the events of X-Men 2. How did Logan exactly lose his memory? What was the connection he had with Sabertooth?

TMNT gets the remake treatment with Turtles in Time

After the release of Bionic Commando: Rearmed last year many gamers have been aching for HD remixes of classic games. Whether it’s Strider, Mega Man, Vector Man or other classic titles gamers out there would love to play some of their old favorites with shiny HD visuals while still retaining the core gameplay that makes them so good.

It seems to be that we’re in luck as another game is getting the HD remix treatment although it’s a game that we weren’t really expecting: a remake of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game “Turtles in Time.”

Death Note is next in line for an American film adaptation

Despite the recent mega failure that was Dragonball: Evolution it seems like Hollywood studios aren’t afraid of launching film adaptations of popular manga/anime series with the latest announcement being an adaptation of the popular Death Note franchise. Warner Brothers have picked up the rights to do a live action version of the film which makes sense since they were responsible for the three live action Japanese films.

Dead to Rights is back from the dead for retribution

One of the few games to be released in the post Max Payne era that turned out to be good was Namco’s Dead to Rights.  The game managed to establish its own gritty noir narrative while also having fun combat and unique scenarios that kept the action fresh. And how could you not like a game where you had a companion in the form of a dog that you could command to maul various enemies?

Critics wonder if new Alien Vs Predator game may be too gory for Australia

If you know me at all, you know I love gore in video games.  Fallout 3 was my 2008 game of the year due to the V.A.T.S. system and when Manhunt first came out I probably beat it several times before playing a new video game. However, it turns out the "Classification Board" in Australia doesn't share my love of gore, considering that late last year they banned F.E.A.R.

Xbox 360 exclusive Bionic Commando multiplayer demo impressions.

The original Bionic Commando for the NES is something that will always stand out in my mind. It was the first game that really instilled the concept for me of playing within the rules of a game. Instead of hating game play for lacking something (like for example the ability to jump). I began understanding why a decision like that would be made in your standard platformer, and began to wrap my head around the concept of a standard platformer now incorporating puzzle-based strategy.
