Patapon 2 is dropping UMD

Ars Technica is reporting today that Sony’s upcoming Patapon 2 for the PSP will not only be made available to download through the PlayStation Network but it’ll be download only for retail stores as well. So when you go to purchase Patapon 2 from a store like Target or EB Games instead of having a UMD in the case you’ll have a voucher for the download.

inFamous gets release change and demo announcement

Today the PlayStation Blog announced that the upcoming superhero sandbox game Infamous will be hitting retail May 26 instead of its original release in the first week of June.

New MAG details from Game Informer

Besides getting the scoop on Assassin’s Creed 2 the latest issue of Game Informer also has the first details on Zipper’s upcoming 256 player war game MAG (Massive Action Game).  MAG is an fps action game set 20 years in the future where 3 major PMCs are fighting in a massive power struggle. This massive battle and struggle for power is dubbed the Shadow War. 

Wii doubles up on its' shoe game

Right on the heels of their latest Blazer and Air Force 2 releases we reported on a few weeks back, come Nike x Wii's second attempt at a very promising collaboration. Both embody the clean cut lines we all  enjoy on the Wii. Hopefully this will inspire a 360 shoe and more PlayStation 3 variants in coming months.

New Assassin's Creed 2 details from Game Informer

The latest issue of Game Informer magazine has hit subscribers and the coverstory is the exclusive first look at Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed 2. While it's typical for a sequel to a hit game to include new features and improved mechanics it seems that the massive 240 member development team is filling AC2 to the brim with new features that should definately makes fans happy.

With recent news on MiniNinjas many have been speculating as to what this game will play like. The game is from Eidos the creators of Hitman and Kane & Lynch. This departure from the normally action packed gun play games they are known for producing should be an interesting one.

"Grudge" director announces "Feel" for the Wii

In the latest issue of the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu it was announced that director Takashi Shimizu, best known for directing "The Grudge", will be working on a new horror game for the Wii called "Feel". Based on the screens in Famitsu it seems like Shimizu's influence is clearly seen in the project since it has the standard "creepy Japanese girl with hair covering her face" complete with some bloody arms.

Home gets user-created t-shirts

The evolution of Sony’s Home continues with the latest feature being a collaboration with t-shirt company MySoti, which is a t-shirt print on-demand company which prints t-shirt designs submitted by users. Sony and MySoti are working together to bring existing MySoti t-shirt prints to Home so your avatar can wear a snazzy original t-shirt instead of being one of the countless flock wearing a Resident Evil: Degeneration Leon shirt.

[UPDATED 2] The Assassins Creed 2 Viral Campaign Begins

This morning what appears to be the first viral marketing for Assassins Creed 2 was seen on TeamXbox.com. The ad came in the form of banner advertisements, which linked to the AC2 website, changed from the AC logo to Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man. The ad also mentioned the Animus which in case you forgot was the machine that was used to read the ancestral memories of the hero in the first Assassins Creed.

A Possible Peak Into Future Mercenaries 3 Features?

This afternoon Electronic Arts posted a link to survey on their Twitter profile concerning the future of the Mercenaries franchise.  While video game companies conducting surveys isn’t a big deal it should be noted that the Mercenaries survey, which was only available to the first 200 people to take it, brought up some potential drastic changes to the series.

Konami wants new Saw game to rival Silent Hill.

Konami has recently acquired the licence for Saw. In a recent statement they claim they want to deliver a brand new Survival Horror property equal to that of the publisher’s long running psychological horror series, Silent Hill.

The Wii has given those who are not quite ready to trade in their khaki's for that bad boy image a chance to paint all over walls. The WiiSpray originally designed about two years ago has been getting more attention as of late as the ability to save and collaborate on works of art has improved. The ability to network your art and have others add to it has brought the invention back in the lime light backed by a major player in the graff scene Montana paints.
