Xbox Receives Exclusive Dead Rising 2 DLC: CASE ZERO

It’s been a little while since we’ve heard anything from Capcom about Dead Rising 2. The last bits of information that trickled out were regarding the combination of weapons that was going to be available to help you hack your way through the hordes in the upcoming sequel. Today Capcom decided to make up for the DR2 drought by providing us with two rather large announcements.

Firstly was the game’s release date: August 31st you’ll be able you get your hands on the title for 360/PS3/PC (assuming you’re living in North America). That came along with an even bigger announcement concerning the game’s DLC. It seems that Capcom is going to be offering a bit of exclusive DLC to Xbox360 owners in the form of Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO.

Case Zero is a prologue to the story of Dead Rising 2, which will be released shortly BEFORE the launch of the full title. That’s right, if you’re planning on getting yourself a copy of the title for the Xbox you can prologue it up before the game is even released! According to the official press release from Capcom, the DLC is set to “introduce former motocross champion Chuck Greene and provide a link between the original game and the events that await players in the gambling paradise of Fortune City.”

The announcement concluded itself with a couple of new suggestions for how you might combine some of the every-day objects that you’ll find in the game, and what they would become to help you through the endless swarm of the undead.

Quote:
Take two objects, add a roll of tape plus the inventiveness and skilled hands of Chuck Greene and an innocent water gun and a can of gasoline become a deadly flamethrower, while a garden rake and car battery combine to create an electrified zombie prod.
