WB Interactive’s acquisition of developer Rocksteady isn’t the only Batman news today as WB Interactive has also announced Batman: The Brave and the Bold for the Wii and DS.
Based on the hit cartoon that airs on the Cartoon Network; Batman: The Brave and the Bold will allow players to not only step into the cowl of the caped crusader but his allies such as Robin, Green Lantern and Blue Beetle via co-op play. The game will also feature additional heroes such as Aquaman (maybe it’ll be his emo version) to aid Batman during puzzles and certain combat challenges.
Taking advantage of the connectivity between the Wii and DS, gamers who own both version of the game will be able to unlock Bat-Mite as a playable character if they connect the two systems.
While the exact gameplay of the game hasn’t been revealed, rumors point to it being a 2D style sidescroller. That definitely seems rather fitting based on developer WayForward’s previous titles which include A Boy and His Blob and Contra 4.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold may not be the Batman game everyone wanted info on but this news has me rather please. I was initially hesitant to the show but eventually I grew to love the tongue in cheek humors and 60s style presentation it offers. And how can you not like an episode that has Batman teaming up with Sherlock Holmes and Jason Blood to stop a villian from stealing souls in 19th century London?
Batman: The Brave and the Bold is set for an Autumn release on the Wii and DS.
