Two weeks ago it was confirmed that both North America and Europe would be receiving a demo of the eagerly anticipated noir drama game Heavy Rain. But besides a vague statement that more details would be announced shortly it was unclear when we would get the demo and what scenario it would feature. Today we have a small update on the Heavy Rain demo as a SCEE rep confirmed that it should be available on the EU PlayStation Store on February 11.
The demo will most likely be released on the North American store that day as well and it’s only a matter of time before the NA PlayStation Blog officially announces it. While it would’ve been nice to get the demo a bit earlier in relation to its Feb. 18 release date it’s still nice to get a little hands-on action before we all delve into the mystery of the Origami Killer.
Speaking of the Origami Killer, Heavy Rain creator David Cage revealed that players will be able to step into the shoes of the infamous killer through the planned DLC dubbed the Heavy Rain Chronicles. The DLC won’t primarily focus on the Origami Killer as it will also feature prequel segments featuring Madison, the attractive photographer, while another will focus on how FBI Agent Norman Jayden became a pill popper.
Each installment in the HR Chronicles should clock in at around an hour, which if you ask me sounds like the perfect length for the little side-stories David Cage and his team plan on telling. Pricing details and how soon we can expect the first installment of the Heavy Rain Chronicles were not revealed.
For more Heavy Rain goodness check out our CES coverage of the game in case you missed it.
Great to finally have a date pinned down for the demo and news of DLC is always welcome.
Sounds fantastic!
i marked that day down in my calendar. it will be a good day.
Isnt the game being released on Feb 23rd?
It is coming out on that day so we got two weeks to try it out here in the states. I really like how they are using the DLC and will be looking forward to them.

Sooner would be indeed better, but oh well. The DLC sounds great.
