I don't think we should worry about this but today Viacom has just bought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle franchise from Mirage and 4Kids Entertainment. In particular the Nickelodeon branch of Viacom is the new home for the Turtles.
Along with the already known about live-action reboot there's also plans for a CG cartoon to coincide with the release of the film in 2012.
Perhaps with this new ownership and the might of Paramount and Nickelodeon behind them the TMNT franchise will finally get a proper boost. The franchise has been doing fine for the past few years with the animated cartoon and the so-so CG film but the franchise hasn't been the powerhouse it once was. Maybe with this news we'll start to hear more info about the live-action film since news on the project has been rather light.

Interesting. Turtles should always have a kiddy spin off running, but they really need to make a hard core dark comic-book roots ass kicking turtles movie.
