Tatsunoko vs. Capcom heading to North America

2009 seems to be a good year for Capcom fighting fans with the release of Street Fighter 4 earlier this year and then the announcement that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 would be coming out this summer for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Well it seems like fighting fans have gotten the cherry atop the sundae with the announcement that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom will be heading to North America.

Now most of you are obviously saying what the hell is Tatsunoko vs. Capcom? TvsC is a Wii exclusive that has the famous stable of Capcom characters facing off against the creations of the Tatsunoko anime company which is most famous for being the creators of Speed Racer and Yatterman amongst others.  Besides combining two iconic companies with an incredible roster of characters the game was best known for its fast 2D fighting style that is similar to the Marvel vs. Capcom series. The game came out in Japan last December and most hardcore gaming enthusiasts simply bought the Japanese version and modded their Wii in various ways since the probability of the game coming out in North America or Europe seemed slim due to how 20+ companies own the rights to the various Tatsunoko properties in North America.

I guess Tatsunoko and Capcom cleared whatever legal hurdles stood in their way as the upcoming issue of Nintendo Power Magazine has a two page spread showcasing the game.  Capcom did tease us awhile back saying that there would be some big announcements at E3 and this definitely seems like it’s one of them. Now just give us a PS3/360 port and I'll be a happy boy.
