Fallout Shelter is a Horrible, Horrible Tease

So, Fallout Shelter has been on the Android market for just around a week now.

Why every Xbox enthusiast needs Windows 10

My gaming habits have changed drastically since I had my daughter. Now with the wife and kid, I sometimes need to wait my turn to use the big screen TV in the living room to do my Xbox gaming. Sure, I could pack up the system and move it to the spare TV in the bedroom, but really who wants to do that? Sound familiar?

Before Mario Maker

Mario Maker is fast approaching and I can feel the need to create swelling in the collective unconscious. The glorious content machine will roll out level after level and we will never go hungry again as we consume every perfect morsel.

Until that day of reckoning is upon us, here's a few under-appreciate and/or lesser-known level editors that have been helping players thirsty for more flex their creative muscles for the last couple decades.

Year Walk on WiiU

There is still a general malaise towards mobile gaming among the 'hardcore' audience - and who can blame them? The mobile market is filled to the brim with unfiltered garbage meant to cheat you out of a buck through deceptive branding or to slowly bleed you dry by capitalizing on the same instincts as gambling.

It's a predatory marketplace, but there is hope.

What I wanted to see at E3 2015

It's no secret that E3 2015 was absolutely fantastic for gamers. The big names had some bombs to drop and the real winners were us the gamers. To say that it's going to be a very expensive Holiday this year is a massive understatement. But there were some things that stood out for me, a few things that I wanted to see at E3 that weren't shown or mentioned.

Fire Emblem has never really been my bag but it's clear that Fire Emblem Fates is going to build on what made Awakening such a success: classic Fire Emblem combat, a bevy of character relationships to forge, and excellent character design by Yusuke Kozaki. Nintendo hasn't addressed whether or not Fates will be releasing in two separate retail versions with DLC story scenarios like it will in Japan, but either way this might be one of the summer must-haves. With a June 25th release date there's not much of a wait left for the quintessential strategy RPG series' return.

Sunset Creator Tale of Tales Leaving Game Development

(Full disclosure: Victor contributed to Sunset's Kickstarter. Not very much though. Because he's very poor.)

In an announcement on their website, indie game developer Tale of Tales has announced that due to the poor sales of last month's Sunset they will be leaving game development to pursue other artistic avenues.

Fallout 4 – Best. Fallout. Ever.

We were not left in the lurch when Bethesda unrolled all the cool new features in their next iteration.

Oh my God, you guys. That was awesome, wasn't it? It was just phenomenal. I'm legit having trouble pacing myself, because even looking down on my caringly crafted notes so I could talk about everything in cohesive order, I just want to regurgitate fangirl rainbows all over my screen.

Nintendo Press Event at E3 2015 - Part 1

Let's take a look at the first half of the Big N's Tuesday announcements.

Nintendo's E3 approach has been shifting for the last few years. They've discovered that they can still get the same kind of groundswell and keep the conversation Nintendo-centric even without spending millions on a massive staged press event.

BE3: The Bethesda Show

Oh, Bethesda. My faith in you is well-placed.

If you were able to catch the conference last night then you were probably as slippery and wet from salivating as I was. We weren't given a slew of games to look forward to over the next year like with other conferences, but we were given less a buffet and more tapas: smaller morsels, but oh god they're so delicious. Maybe I should stop talking while I'm waiting for dinner.
