Premier trailer for Transformers: War for Cybertron

Earlier this week to the surprise of many Activision announced Transformers: War for Cybertron for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The fact that Activision was once again trying to capitalize on a multi-million dollar franchise wasn’t the surprising part, instead it was the fact that the game was being based on the look from the cartoon and comic books instead of the rubbish that Michael Bay gave us in his vision of Autobots and Decepticons.

Even though the game doesn’t have an exact release date outside of the standard and vague “sometime in 2010” we do have a short teaser trailer for the game which should get you hyped up if you’re a Transformers fan. The trailer itself is rather short and is all pre-rendered CG footage but seeing Optimus Prime transform with the classic sound effect from the cartoon and then proceed to slice a Decepticon in half with his axe is pretty damn awesome. Oh yeah, at the end of the trailer there’s a robot the size of four buildings who’s holding a massive gun. I think after watching this everyone is hoping that developer High Moon Studios won't let us all down as we're in dire need of a good Transformers game.
