When compared to their video game counter parts the live-action Resident Evil movies haven’t been that great. There have certainly been a few cool scenes but for the most part they’ve failed to really capture the essence of the games. Despite not being faithful to the source material, each RE film has done well at the box office. And when a film does well that means it’ll get a sequel.
Set after the events of Resident Evil Apocalypse, RE Afterlife now finds Alice in Los Angeles. With her allies Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller) and his sister Claire (Ali Larter), Alice goes on a quest to destroy the Umbrella Corporation once and for all.
After watching this premier trailer for RE Afterlife I’m honestly not too hyped. It basically looks like what we’ve gotten before but with a few added elements from RE5. Like every other film coming out now, RE Afterlife is in 3D. But I’m sure you already knew that since the trailer and PR for the film has been hammering that point across. I think 3D can be cool in some cases but in Afterlife it looks to kind of follow the standard “let’s throw stuff towards the screen” type thing. Maybe it’s just me but I find that too be a bit lazy and uncreative.
Resident Evil Afterlife is set for release in September.
not really interested anymore in Resident Evil movies. The movie looks like its trying to cash in on the popularity of RE 5 by including the Executioner character and the parasites. Also they look they are adding Wesker as the villian.
Damn, this just lowered my expectations, looks like they're throwing a lot of it,which makes me think the story will be meh.And enough with 3D PR move, shit let the movie speak for itself.
ill watch the film just because its in 3D. i do like 3D films and this one seems to have cool action to go along with it.
The RE films have always bothered me because of how they treat the source material as an after thought. I mean just now having Wesker appear as some sort of villain is a pretty big oversight.
I thought that was Wesker but wasn't sure.
Another RE movie ? Now with Re5 characters! oh crap plz don't ruin it.
But ill watch it anyway lol
I thought that was Wesker but wasn't sure.
Yup, that's Wesker. It's a different actor from the one that appeared in Resident Evil 3.

Wow just from that trailer they did throw in quite a bit of RE5 stuff. And it's lame that it seems almost every movie now is jumping on the 3-D bandwagon. I think 3-D works better for some than others.
