New screens of IllFonic's fps game Nexuiz

When they’re not getting arrested by accident the good folks over at IllFonic are hard at work on Nexuiz, a new fps game.  Based on the PC open-source game originally developed by AlienTrap, Nexuiz aims to bring a simple yet action packed fps experience to console gamers. The game itself almost harkens back to the good old days of Quake as it’s essentially a no-frills arena fps game.

To keep things “modern” Nexuiz does feature Perk type customizations that come in the form of Silver Points and Mutagens. The Silver Points allow users to customize their health and armor while the Mutagens are more attack based in their nature.
Looking at these new screens it’s rather obvious that Nexuiz is a spiffy looking game.

Visually the game may not be uber detailed but the design approach IllFonic is taking is rather original.  To be honest I’m just happy the game looks to be devoid of bald space marines or dudes who look like they’re jacked up on HGH.

Nexuiz is slated for release later this year on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

Yeah it's nice to see a space shooter without the stereotypical space monkey's. Hopefully this turns out to be a nice FPS.
