Michael Bay tells us when we can see his next attempt at ruining the Transformers

After giving us an ok action movie and following that up with probably one of the biggest pieces of trash to ever hit theaters with a massive budget Michael Bay and co. are ready to go at it again with Transformers 3.

Writing on his blog Michael has confirmed that Transformers 3 will hit theaters July 1st, 2011 instead of the rumored 2012 release date.  Besides confirming the release date for the film Michael also said that he has met with special effects studio ILM so the two can presumably plan out all the action scenes and merely write a story around them just as they did with Transformers 2.  The film doesn’t have a script at this time but Michael and writer (or at least that’s what he calls himself) Ehren Kruger are set to fly out to Hasbro headquarters so they can discuss which characters to portray inaccurately and stereotypically and how many new toys they want to get out of the movie.

I may sound like a typical angry Transformers or movie geek but Transformers 2 was really, really bad.  It was hard to find anything good in that movie amidst the terrible comedy on both the human and Transformers side along with the shaky camera directing and action scenes that should’ve been cool but felt bloated and were generally nothing we haven’t seen before.  Some people were hoping Transformers 2 would fix the problems the first movie had, but with the upcoming sequel I think we should all set our expectations quite low as Michael Bay won’t change a damn thing.
