Jade's Klassic Costume For Mortal Kombat Is Revealed

One of the many things the new Mortal Kombat game seems to be focused on is giving the fans what they want.  Fans wanted MK to return to its roots with a 2D combat system and such a thing was offered.  Of course MK fans want the new Mortal Kombat game to be a complete old-school throwback, complete with MK1/MK2 era costumes, which NetherRealm Studios is happy to provide.

While gamers may not be able to equip the classic Scorpion/Sub-Zero/Reptile costumes on day 1 without pre-ordering the new MK game from a specific retailer, the option is still out there for the hardcore fans. In addition to the three masked ninjas getting the Klassic costume treatment, we also received last month that Jade would be getting her own classic costume that would be exclusive to the Blu-ray release of Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.  There was talk amongst the MK fanbase as to what Jade’s costume would look like, but we finally know what the other veiled female ninja in MK will look like in her classic get-up.

As you can see in the picture above, Jade’s classic costume is based on her look in MK3, which makes sense as that was her first proper appearance as an official character.  Jade did appear in MK2 as a bonus character, but wasn’t a full-blown character like the esteemed Princess Kitana.  Jade’s classic costume fits the MK design mantra of female characters being overly busty along with having an outfit that would otherwise be impossible to fight in, unless you know it’s made out of some special Dragon Ball Z type armor where it’s one size fits all, complete with amazing resilience.

The one thing that I will say about Jade’s costume that hopefully won’t catch me too much flack is that she has thighs that could rival that of the famous Chun-Li. I know I’m treading the often eyebrow raising territory of analyzing female video game character art, but with an outfit like that it’s hard not to notice a pair of thunder thighs.  I also have a feeling that I may not be the first one to notice such a thing and I’m shuddering at what sort of search results will be yielded from doing a Google search for “Jade & Chun-Li fan-fiction.”

If you want to get the Jade classic costume to experience in Mortal Kombat on day 1, then you’ll have to buy either the Blu-ray version of Mortal Kombat or Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, both of which will be available on April 19th. It’s worth noting that the Jade costume will only be available on the PS3 and not the Xbox 360, who at this point still don’t have a confirmed bonus character.
