It's official: Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD remixes are coming to the PS3

I wouldn’t say this has been a worst kept secret scenario, but Famitsu has today confirmed that both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus will be getting the HD treatment for the PS3.  For the past few months, and the last couple days in particular, rumors have swirled that the beloved games from Team Ico would be getting the HD treatment similar to the God of War Collection and the upcoming Sly Cooper Collection.

One interesting note is that Famitsu listed the games individually. That could mean that instead of being released together in a Collection package the two games would be sold separately, at least in Japan. Hopefully we’ll get some clarification on this at TGS or through an official announcement via SCEA.

Both games sadly have the dreaded TBA release date.  So in an awesome twist we won’t be getting the HD versions of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus before years end.  Chances are we’ll see both games pop up a few months prior to the release of The Last Guardian, a game which itself still has a TBA release date.

Of course we should get a least a few questions answered along with some potentially glorious screenshots and video once TGS officially begins.
