A recent GDC announcement is good news for gamers and bad news for lead character in the next Dead Rising 2 game.
Izmeth Siddeek, Dead Rising 2's character art lead, announced at GDC that a new game engine technology called "Mental Mill" will allow up to 6,000 zombies to appear on-screen at once, without any sacrifice to the quality of graphics or frame rate. The developer of Mental Mill, Laura Scholl, has confirmed that Siddeek told him that their development teams were ready to take advantage of the technology and hit that magic 6,000 mark.
Dead Rising 2 will be released for the Xbox 360, PC and the PS3 sometime next year. That's plenty of time to sharpen those chain saws and start stock piling ammo. Sounds like we'll need it.

Pure madness. This is definately a game I'm going to be following closely.
