Fist Bump or Bitch Slap: Propaganda Games or Microsoft

This is the love/hate relationship between the video game industry and myself. Every week I will pick someone who gets my Fist-bump for doing a good deed, someone who gets my undesirable Bitch-Slap for doing something wrong (or just something that pisses me off), and I'll share my experience/opinion along the way.

This week my extraterrestrial FIST-BUMP goes to the folks at Propaganda Games for their efforts.

Fist Bump

No matter how many times we (as observers of the industry) see the closure of industry developers, it is always painful to watch. Propaganda Games who was owned by Disney got shut down this past week. I commend the folks at Propaganda for their effort in the creation of Tron: Evolution despite all of the restrictions Disney placed on their laps.

Tron: Evolution is a fantastic game and could have been an amazing game. I hope the great people from Propaganda keep their heads up and make progress in finding new homes.

- My secondary FIST-BUMP goes to Steve Wiebe for continuing his pursuit for Donkey Kong supremacy.

My super-sized BITCH-SLAP and fries combo goes to Microsoft its pursuit of gold.

Bitch Slap

Microsoft has recently been making my eyes twitch with their constant reminders pressed out in small doses that are build purely to remind the world of the Halo franchise. Let me just say one thing guys, “everyone knows what Halo is”, no one has forgotten. The most recent news regarding the upcoming untitled Halo game pains me. Why is there constantly a need to place your top tier franchise on the butcher’s block? Is it not enough that you’re beloved creation has already garnered more respect and commercial success then any major US president? Please let our fandom lie in the arms of the already built and ingenious Halo franchise. There is no need to continue this process of “milking the cow”.

- My secondary BITCH-SLAP milkshake goes to Activision for their negligence in the direct relation to yet another industry development house’s closure.
