Fist-Bump or Bitch-Slap: Best and Worst of E3 2011

A SUPER-DUPER EXTRA-SCUCEM AWESOME-TO-THE-MAX BEST AND WORST OF E3 FIST-BUMP OR BITCH-SLAP!


Best of e3 FIST-BUMP goes to Battlefield 3. 



No one has the balls, or even the facts to challenge the fact that Battlefield 3 is the best looking game (let alone FPS) at e3. Nothing has excited the gamers more then the evolution that DICE has started and will continue in their Battlefield series. Boasting the new Destruction engine and the new Frostbite2 graphics engine, Battlefield is finally back and better then ever.

My heart was torn when I saw the footage for Battlefield 3 because I was already set on giving the Tomb Raider reboot my game of the show. I knew however that Tomb Raider will still be the runner-up. Honourable mentions include the ever go to Gearbox Software's Furious 4, Bioware's Mass Effect 3, Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3, Ubi Montreal's FarCry 3, Bioware's The Old Republic, Irrational's BioShock Infinite, RockSteady's  Batman: Arkham City and Insomniac's OverStrike. Most of my honourable mentions are only mentions due to the fact that we went in to e3 knowing that most of these games would be amazing.


Worst of e3 BITCH-SLAP goes to Kinect only games.



I'm actually kind of disgusted by this. The barrage of all the Kinect games during the Microsoft brief was astounding in all the wrong ways. The lack of “hardcore” titles for Kinect was an ongoing discussion coming into the show. The “hardcore” fans got what they were asking for; a slew of Kinect additions to the games and franchises they already love. BOOM! What Microsoft neglected to control was the flood of shit that is Kinect only games coming from some big names. I am so grossed out by the garbage can filled with rail-shooters that will unrelentingly going to be released.

Once again, I already had my mind set on naming the Wii-U my worst of E3 2011. Unfortunately, my better senses got a hold of my mind and I had to leave a lot of room in my opinion to give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt. So at the time of writing this I still believe very strongly that the Wii-U is my runner up for the worst of E3. There was also a list full of no-shows; including Last Guardian, Syphon Filter 4, Twisted Metal vita (or any sort of big variety of Vita titles from huge devs) and lastly; nothing from Valve? Wtf.
