Last week was THQ’s turn to boast about their financial earnings and today it was Electronic Arts’ turn. Overall earnings for the company were ok (they only lost a measly $82 million) but most gamers could care less about things concerning percentages and millions of dollars earned/lost as most simply care about when the games are coming out.
EA announced that the dudebro experience that is the Medal of Honor reboot will be released this summer and will definitely be available before September. That is of course barring any last minute delays or unforeseeable events such as the news or certain groups boycotting the game due to its depiction of the war in Afghanistan. Also set for a summer release is Realtime Worlds’ epic crime MMO APB. The game hasn’t gotten an insane amount of hype but it does have a nice buzz going for it since it’s coming from the talented folks who gave us Crackdown.
The latter half of EA’s releases will include a few small games that are sure to get some attention such as Crysis 2, Sims 3, and EA Sports MMA. Also included (keep in mind this is just the stuff they’re willing to reveal now) is the latest Harry Potter game and Criterion’s “action oriented” Need for Speed game. EA also listed two new entries in the EA Sports Active franchise which most likely are the Natal and Arc based versions of the game.
If you’re wondering where Dead Space 2 rests in EA’s release schedule then you’re have to wait until early next year to experience the next chapter in the sci-fi horror series. Waiting a year may be a bit much for some but gamers could be getting a double dose of Dead Space 2 goodness as EA listed a portable release for the game. Perhaps this was an error or maybe we’ll dismember Necromorphs on the PSP/iTouch/iPad in the not too distant future.
Of course there were a few vague listings such as a “Sports Fighting Game” and an “Action Title”. As far as what the Sports Fighting Game is I have no clue unless EA does something totally radical and makes a NHL 1vs1 fighting game complete with moves where people get impaled with hockey sticks. In a perfect world the unannounced action game would be Gun Head or Black Box's project but it’s most likely the Jason Bourne game that Starbreeze is working on.
I know this news may not be that thrilling but it is nice to know when we can expect the awesome dudebro action of Medal of Honor but waiting almost a year for Dead Space 2 is going to be really tough for some people. Also, EA if you’re reading this can you please give us some details on the Epic Games project and more importantly on the Grasshopper Manufacture game?

what I found interesting about the release schedule was apparently there is some sort of multi-platform game release of a new Dragon Age in early 2011 along with a new Mass Effect (maybe ME 3?)game as well.
