In a move that shouldn’t really surprise us it seems like actor Daniel Craig will not be reprising his role in Activision’s upcoming James Bond game. While Craig will still assume the Walther PPK and sharp suit for the next James Bond film he’s skipping out on the next game engagement either due to conflicting schedules or perhaps because he’s not too keen on acting in a video game.
So in place of Craig British actor Adam Croasdell has assumed the James Bond mantle, or at least that’s what he told the BBC Asian Network. Talking to the BBC Croasdell said “Oddly enough I have just played James Bond in the new James Bond video game - how weird is that? I don't know what the future holds, but I'm always into varying up what comes my way, trying new things."
Croasdell is best known for playing a doctor in the popular series EastEnders along with starring in a few small films. It’ll be interesting to see how Croasdell portrays Bond and if the game will model the look of the character after Craig or create an entirely new Bond look. If it’s the former then it wouldn’t be the first time something like this has happened as EA’s 007 Nightfire featured the likeness of actor Pierce Brosnan but not his voice.
Hopefully we’ll get an announcement of the new Bond game early next year since it would be nice to know what the project is about and if it’s the rumored GoldenEye game.
Here's an interview that was conducted with Adam in case those unfamiliar with EastEnders wanted to get a feel of what he sounds like and perhaps what sort of Bond he'll make.
hmmm i heard the next bond was going to be black... Alas i agree with Corey excepet for gadgets. It should be more about the power weapons because, unless done brilliantly gadgets would cheapen the whole experience.
Oh yeah, I mean realistic gadgets. Like how Batman in the recent AA game integrated gadget gameplay nicely. In the later Pierce Brosnan movies it got really cheesy. Almost like in the old 60's batman show where Batman had a gadget for everything. "Good thing I have my trusty Bat Shark Repellent!"

Hmmm. It's a shame the bond franchise is in such a weird limbo right now. I would like to see a bond game deliver the same kind of game play as Uncharted, but with a little less intense platforming and more gadgets. I think Bond could learn a lot from Nathan Drakes shenanigans.
