While we're still waiting on the launch of the next Dragon Ball fighter (Dragon Ball Xenoverse, launching TOMORROW), today sees the announcement (and first images) of a NEW Dragon Ball fighter.
Anyone that follows the site knows I'm a fan of the Dragon Ball franchise as a whole and twice over its Fighting Games. In fact, I'm the guy working on the Xenoverse Review RIGHT NOW. My main complaint with the fighting game genre of Dragon Ball though has been it hasn't been as awesome has it could be since it went 3D. Budokai 3 is, in my opinion, the last great Dragon Ball fighting game.
Extreme Butoden seems to have acknowledged that fact by taking the game series back to its 2D routes. Interestingly enough, the platform that they chose for the return to 2D-fighting is the Nintendo 3DS.
I couldn't care less what platform it's on, if I'm being honest. Getting a new 2D fighter with the Dragon Ball character cast is just about the best news I'm likely to get today.
If you're proficient in Japanese you can poke around the mini-site, but there's not a lot more information than a couple of early screenshots and the title announcement so far.
