Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Mass Effect 3 Cross Paths For Some Free DLC.

EA once again is up to one of their own clever marketing tricks as today they have introduced another crossover DLC promotion between two of their soon to be released RPG games, Big Huge Games' Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Bioware's Mass Effect 3

Starting next week on January 17th, the demo for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be available to download for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The demo (demo consist of playing through the game's Tutorial Mode and then having a 45 minute time limit to explore Amalur) will give gamers the opportunity to unlock up to three items that can be use when the full copy releases on February 7. Those items include the "Confident” Twist of Fate Card and the Twinned Souls Chakram weapon which can be unlocked by just downloading and installing the demo and finally the Infernal Helm can be unlocked by finishing the game's Tutorial Mode.

The first part of the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning/Mass Effect 3 crossover DLC promotion is also obtained from just downloading and installing the Amalur demo which will automatically unlock the exclusive Todd McFarlane-designed Reckoner Knight Armor for use in Mass Effect 3 and completing the demo along with watching the trailer at the end of the demo will unlock the Chakram Launcher weapon that your Commander Shepard character can wield in Mass Effect 3.

The second part of the crossover DLC promotion will become available when the demo for Mass Effect 3 eventually releases in the future though no known actual Mass Effect 3 demo release date at this writing. Playing the Mass Effect 3 demo will unlock the Omniblade Daggers for use in Kingdoms of Amalur. Additionally a N7-inspired Shepard’s Battle Armor will unlock for use in Amalur when you redeemed the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning's Online Pass.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning releases on February 07 and Mass Effect 3 releases on March 06 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
