2009 is about end and 2010 is the year this game, or work of art, is being released. The dates of release are:
- For North America: May 25, 2010
- For Europe or European Union: May 28, 2010
- For Asia or Japan: March 18, 2010
There you go. Now, as many of you may know, Demo Ops is now on every PlayStation Store. And the biggest news of that is that it's finally in English! So while we wait for our unfair release, we'll get enjoy the demo in our language with David Hayter's excellent voice acting.
This thread is meant for more than informing, it's meant for discussion. So, let's discuss about the game, our impressions from the English demo, etc.

you have to be kidding
you have to be kidding
lol XD
official box art fo the game

That's the Japanese box art, which I think looks very nice. I wonder if it's going to be the same for N.A.
Just what bradlloyd13 said IGN said, there's going to be a Peace Walker themed PSP. Now, this PSP comes in two bundles, one that is priced somewhere near $405, and another that is priced somewhere near $296. These bundles are said to be released in Japan when the game releases in March. Information about these releasing in N.A. and E.U. is not known. In my opinion, these bundles look very nice but are a bit overpriced.
Here's an image of the $296 bundle:

The $405 bundle also comes with dog tags, which I think are no big deal.

Thank God it's not a PSP Go bundle.
Thank God it's not a PSP Go bundle.
i know. sony is probably losing more money then they originally did with the PS3.
Agreed, but the DS is blowing the PSP out of the market so Sony have to try and do something. Whether the PSP Go! is the answer or not, I don't know.
Although I would say the PSP, not the Go, is a good success for Sony. They have made a name for themselves in a market that Nintendo has dominated for like 20 years.
ok well i have 3 things to say pretty much so here we go...#1 i think that box art and the bundles are amazing:) #2i seriously gotta go check that nion more often i keep forgetting im a member haha and finally #3...i STILL havnt played the peacealker demo fullly even though its patiently waiting on my memory stick...i need to get back into portable gameing haha
It's a good point you make Schumi but I still think that Ninty's market share has increased by such a huge margin with the "casual" market.
Ya same with the Wii. They both have casual market in the palm of their hand. I'm sure if they had the Wii Lite it would sell another 50 million.
Nice boxart, wouldnt mind if that was the one for NA.
" In a recent interview with Famitsu (heh go figure) asked Kojima if he wants to get to work on software for the new generation. His response was, "We
will work on software for new generation systems. However, this seems
to be a bit far off. For now, I'd like to make Peace Walker into a
solid title and get many people to play it."
They then go
into detail about the year of 2009 where Kojima Productions made a lot
of announcements but no releases besides the budget version of MGS 4.
Kojima responded to this, "2009 was the year that we prepared
many things. The results will be shown between this year and next year,
so at present I can't look back and give a review for 2009."
The
first of those results will, of course, be Metal Gear Solid Peace
Walker. Kojima noted that Peace Walker has so many new elements that
it's hard to describe what type of game it is. "It's a game unlike any
before it, so I believe you will incur shock when you play it."
It also looks like we can expect a lot of time out of Peace Walker from Kojima's word.
The story alone is so long that the past Metal Gear titles cannot
compare. The main mission and the Mother Base management portion of the
game are tied together, so the updates to Mother Base are reflected in
the missions. There are also missions that have no relation to the
story, as well as co-op and competitive play.
"Everything you can think of is in there," said Kojima.
Famitsu then asked about Kojimas expectations for 2010. "This
year, good games from overseas will further increase," said Kojima.
"Kojima Productions is a global studio, so there will be no change in
our competing against the world. However, I believe this will be the
year that we set a direction."
By
"direction," Kojima refers to two possible directions that Japanese
studios can take for competing on the world stage. One is to make games
that are tailored to overseas tastes. The other is to make a product
that only they can make and put it out there to compete.
Lastly,
Kojima said, "2010 will be an extremely important year for the game
industry. There's the PlayStation 3 Motion Controller and Xbox 360's
Natal. I believe 3D televisions will become the future standard, so
game direction should change greatly." "
This game is definitely my most anticipated of the year.
Cant wait for it neither, anything MGS is awesome. And MGS+3D=Mindblowing,and i will continue to say it.
The first bad news concerning Peace Walker:
" Lastly on this enlightening Peace Walk of reveals, Kojima Productions also confirmed extensive multi-player elements in Peace Walker,
allowing four-player co-operative missions, and a “stunning
three-against-three battle royale”, wherein six players can form teams
and engage in huge linked battles via the Sony handheld’s Ad Hoc
capabilities. " - EpicBattleAxe.com, through GameTrailers.
Although this could be changed at any time during these months before the release, this is really bad news. Such an important feature for a game to have, and they decided not include it. Big dissapointment, and big mistake by the acclaimed developer Kojima Productions.

But I don't see why they say it's Ad Hoc only if the box art says otherwise. Damn it, Kojima, always screwing with us.

Here you go with another custom box art from vgboxart.com:
