Sony Reveals PS Plus Updates For Vita (They're Shockingly Good)

It may be time for PlayStation Vita owners to buy a new memory stick since Sony is finally giving us the goods more or less. After announcing earlier this year that the PlayStation Plus service would be bound for the Vita, Sony has at long last announced what free games will be available to gamers and thankfully the launch isn’t a complete bust.

Capcom Announces DmC DLC Starring Vergil

Good old Capcom has gone and done gamers a solid but at the same time have also committed one of those moves which may make us raise an eyebrow or two. After revealing that Vergil, Dante’s twin brother, would be in Devil May Cry gamers of course wondered if the classic character would be playable, either in a co-op centric mission or in a separate mode within the game. Well, I have good news and bad news: Vergil is indeed playable in DmC but it’s via post-release DLC.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Final Boss Revealed + Intro Video

Sony may not be doing their best to promote PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale considering the game comes out in less than two weeks, but such a thing ultimately won’t have an effect on the overall quality of the product.  Debates about the similarities between PS All-Stars and the Smash Bros. franchise will likely continue until the planet Earth is invaded by aliens or suddenly goes boom, but the team at SuperBot Entertainment have done something that will likely please everyone who has been a PlayStation fan since day 1.

Old School Wrestling May Return Thanks To Pro Wrestling X

Wrestling video games haven’t really disappeared over the years but their quality has certainly diminished.  With THQ retaining the core rights to the WWE games for the past twelve years, and until 2017 pending the company doesn’t shutter, the good old days of wrasslin video games have disappeared in favor of constant repetition and fine tuning that doesn’t go nowhere.

Need For Speed Movie Gains Another Incredible Actor

With two cast members already aboard the film adaptation of Need For Speed, including the amazing Aaron Paul, the project has entailed the services of yet another stellar actor.  Joining the theatrical debut of the NFS series is British actor Dominic Cooper.  Best known for portraying Howard Stark in Captain America: The First Avenger, Cooper will play one of the main protagonists within the film - an update which finally gives us our first details on the plot.

Uncharted Is Returning To The Vita Once Again In An Unexpected Game

Fans of the Uncharted series may be happy to hear that the franchise is making a return to the PlayStation Vita in a smaller and less action oriented adventure.  After serving as a launch game for the Vita earlier this year, Uncharted is returning to Sony’s handheld once more in Uncharted: Fight or Fortune - a new card based game.

Three Major Franchises Unite For Heroes Vs.

I never cease to be amazed at all the cool games that come out in Japan.  At this stage the amount of truly amazing games that can be placed under the sometimes dubious triple-A moniker may be rare, but Japanese developers are still doing some exciting things, some of which see our fanboy dreams finally become a reality.

Microsoft Reportedly Pursuing Xbox Branded Surface Device

Over the last few months there have been countless rumors about the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft, some of which seemed legit while others were nothing but complete flights of fancy.  With word pointing to the next console from Microsoft dropping sometime next year, perhaps in time for the Holiday season, we’re bound to get some legit details on the successor to the Xbox 360 - the first of which may be a new add-on peripheral in the form of a tablet.

Frontier Developments Announce Elite Revival Via Kickstarter

The space sim genre could be poised for a major resurgence thanks to two legendary game creators resurrecting the franchises that made them famous. After Chris Roberts announced the Wing Commander spiritual successor that is Star Citizen, Frontier Development’s David Braben has announced a revival of Elite.  Released in the 1980s, Elite was one of the first fully 3D games presented in an “open world” format and now it could return thanks to a new Kickstarter campaign.

THQ Issues Delays For South Park, Metro: Last Light, and Company of Heroes 2

Not quite embarrassing as some of the other punches the company has received, THQ has announced that they will be delaying three of their core releases.  Slated to get moderate, if not sizeable bumps, will be the genre laced FPS action of Metro: Last Light, Company of Heroes 2, and the ever humorous and potentially awesome South Park: The Stick of Truth.
