PlayStation Heroes Come To Life In Sony's Live Long Play Ad [Video]

Video game ads are always hit and miss since they either try to be too unique in order to captivate people or are simple snippets of game footage condensed into a 20 second clip.  For the most part we’ve gotten some good video game ads this generation that pay respect to the property without dumbing things down too much for the mainstream audience. Even games like Dante’s Inferno have gotten decent ads amidst classics like the ad campaign the Gears of War series has received.

Being the PS3 fanboy that I am it kind of hasn’t dawned on me that ModNation Racers is coming out next month. I’ve been following the project but with the flurry of other games coming out, namely Red Dead Redemption, ModNation Racer has been pushed into the back recesses of my mind.

Sony officially announces the PlayStation Heroes DLC for Uncharted 2

After yesterday’s amazing news and subsequent update Sony has officially announced the Uncharted 2 PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack DLC.  As we already knew the DLC pack will contain Sev and a Helghast soldier from Killzone 2, Nathan Hale and a Chimera from Resistance 2, and Cole (good and evil versions) from Infamous along with having his buddy Zeke playable as well.

[Update] PlayStation franchises collide in the new DLC for Uncharted 2

No, the above picture wasn't created by someone in Photoshop. That indeed is Killzone 2 protagonist Sev getting the jump on a Helghast soldier in the middle of an Uncharted 2 level. In a move that not only is cool but shows the on-going synergy Sony has between its studios and franchises, Sony has announced several new multiplayer skins for Uncharted 2 based on popular PlayStation 3 franchises.

Infamous 2 confirmed via casting audition

This past May Sucker Punch released their open-world superhero game Infamous to widespread praise from critics and gamers alike. I personally loved the game and so far it's in my top 5 for this year.  The sales for Infamous were solid and there was never a doubt we would see the continued adventures of protagonist Cole as he further understands his powers and protects his home Empire City.

Prelude to inFamous story provided in comic form


Earlier today the first issue of the inFamous comic series was posted.  This will be provided leading up to the May 29th release of the video game. The seven page issue of the comic released by Sony has been graciously hosted by the people over at Joystiq. The story so far takes place prior to the events of the game. No word yet regarding how many other issues are going to be released of the comic.

Sony promises an 'Electrifying' announcement for Monday

Today Sony has begun to tease a big announcement set for Monday involving Infamous and Uncharted 2. The tease itself is just a banner video on the US PlayStation site which flashes between images of Infamous and Uncharted 2 and then puts up the date 4-27-09.

inFamous gets release change and demo announcement

Today the PlayStation Blog announced that the upcoming superhero sandbox game Infamous will be hitting retail May 26 instead of its original release in the first week of June.
