PSP2 rumors surface that sound too good to be true

Posted in

This could be a case of trying to get hits on what is usually a slow news day but now it’s slowly starting to gain some momentum.  To no one’s surprise Sony is working on the PSP2 but as we all know firm details on what we can expect from the second iteration of Sony’s portable have been rather scarce.

Capcom releases a new trailer for the PSP game Last Ranker

We’ve seen footage of Capcom’s PSP bound RPG game Last Ranker but I think this latest trailer is probably the best.  Covering all the bases the trailer has the typical RPG melodrama, dudes with big swords, and J-Pop which almost borders on some form of hip-hop.

Killzone and tennis clash in Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip

Amidst all the powerhouse franchises Sony has now it’s nice to see they haven’t completely forgotten about their past with today’s announcement.  The famous Hot Shots franchise is making a return with Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip for the PSP.

First footage of Yakuza PSP

Along with a change in name Yakuza’s PSP debut is also changing a few other things, most notably the cutscenes.  In another departure for the franchise, Yakuza PSP or should I say Black Leopard will feature cutscenes presented to us in a manga style fashion.  This is definitely a change of pace for the series as the previous Yakuza games had high-end CG cutscenes for all the important story scenes.

Yakuza PSP release date and name revealed

As some of you may know the Yakuza franchise is heading to the PSP this year. Since it was unveiled in March the game had only had the codename Project K, a name which seemed to have no connection to the game at all. Now Sega has released the official name of Yakuza’s debut on the PSP and it’s rather surprising.

It seems like Kratos isn’t content with being just the king of the PS3 as he also wants to dominate the PSP. Today Sony has announced God of War: Ghost of Sparta for the PSP.  The game is being developed by Ready at Dawn who developed God of War’s previous PSP game Chain of Olympus.  This news isn’t too surprising considering recent murmurs of Ready at Dawn doing a PSP game.
