New Crysis 2 teaser trailer shown in New York

I haven’t been following Crysis 2 too closely, despite my interest in the project. But maybe I should keep a closer eye on things since Crytek and EA are slowly releasing new videos for the project. Announced via their Twitter page yesterday, a new maybe pre-rendered trailer (it’s honestly hard to tell with since Crytek are graphics gods) was shown in New York City’s famous Times Square.

New Blacklight: Tango Down screens and details

Last month Ignition Entertainment announced Blacklight: Tango Down, a new fps game.  I know that at this stage in the game we’re probably getting a bit tired of the countless fps games being released. And if it’s not our boredom of the genre then it’s the quick dismal of games that don’t have Modern Warfare, Battlefield or Halo in the title.

Just Cause 2 DLC Detailed and Dated

Just Cause 2 is definitely one of the best games that I’ve played this year. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it at a rate of about 1% completion per 1 hour of gameplay. If I keep this rate up I should have the game wrapped in about 100 hours! Not too shabby if I say so myself.

TOROcast - Episodes 35-47 - The Massive Backlog!

Unfortunately Shogun Gamer has falling a bit behind for a while with keeping up with our good friends over at TOROcast. Hopefully everyone has been checking their site directly to keep up with the show, however if you haven’t been, we thought we might play a little catch-up for you. There have been 13 episodes since we last left off, which means that if you were unaware for any reason that these guys are still going strong, well then Christmas just came early!

PAX East highlight: Devil's Tuning Fork

At this point it’s rather obvious that we here at ShogunGamer dig the indie games.  It’s not just us trying to be hip as there are a ton of unique indie games for the PC and consoles that deserve attention and a much needed push into the spotlight.  The latest game that has won our hearts is Devil’s Tuning Fork. And no, this isn’t a 3D brawler in the vein of Devil May Cry nor is it a weird music game that would make Ozzy Osbourne happy.  Devil’s Tuning Fork is actually one of the most unique games I’ve seen in a long time.

[PAX East] Hands-on with Mafia II

Hearing the song “Why Do Birds Fall in Love” play while trying to escape from the cops is just one of the many things Mafia II does well.  Yes, I know that most of you have never heard of that song as it was a classic in the late 50s.  But it’s the small details like that which set apart Mafia II from the rest of the pack. And without coming off as a complete silly bastard, it’s these small details along with the bigger picture that makes Mafia II a potential contender for GOTY.

Mafia II finally gets a release date

Back when Take Two held their financial report last month there were some disconcerting comments. Amongst the typical financial mumbo jumbo and praise came the word that Mafia II could potentially be delayed until 2011.

Thankfully that won’t be the case as Take Two announced a release date for Mafia II. Set to release in North America on August 24 and Europe on August 27th, we won’t have to wait too long to live out all 1940s gangster fantasies.

[Video] Another reason why Just Cause 2 is awesome: amazing plane stunts

Today you can go out to your local electronics or video game store and pick up the action spectacle that is Just Cause 2. Having gotten a taste of the game through the demo I’m sure I’m not the only one who was looking forward to today.
