Hey everyone! Time for another edition of TL;DR, catching you up on a bit of the news that has caught our attention throughout the day (or rather days) since it’s last episodic adventure. Today’s highlights include a whole lot of EVO in the form of wrap-ups of the tournaments as well as some of the announcements that launched during the show, and a bevy of new video game trailers for you to feast your eyeballs on. Let’s get started!

The News

First Detail on Next Call of Duty Game, CoD: Ghosts

What once was believed to be nothing more than a salacious and possibly fake rumor now has some credibility behind it.  Teased last month was news that the next Call of Duty game would be called CoD: Ghosts.  A fairly unassuming name, though unexpected given the belief that it would be Modern Warfare 4, details were then sprouted that the game would have new elements to the MP mode along w

Remaining THQ Properties Acquired (Darksiders, Homeworld, Red Faction)

The rather depressing saga of THQ is almost over for good since the remaining properties once owned by the company have now been acquired. Initially passed up in the auction that saw Ubisoft pick up South Park and Saints Row become part of the Koch Media family, once major THQ franchises such as Darksiders and Drawn to Life now have new homes – however unexpected they may be.

Ubisoft Reveals Price/Date For Call of Juarez Gunslinger

Ubisoft is giving gamers a taste of the Old West once again via the forthcoming PSN/XBL/PC title Call of Juarez Gunslinger.  Yet another entry in Techland’s/Ubisoft’s Call of Juarez series, Gunslinger sees the franchise returns to its roots once more by having a tale set in the 1800s as opposed to the modern day drug cartel battles found in the somewhat disappointing Call of Juarez: The Cartel.

Shinji Mikami and Bethesda Unveil The Evil Within

The teasing done by Bethesda Softworks has finally ended and as expected we have the debut of Shinji Mikami’s new survival horror game. Formerly known as Zwei, Shinji’s new game under his Tango Gameworks studio is now dubbed The Evil Within; a title that’s rather fitting of the horrors that are promised to be experienced within the title.

Bethesda Teases New Mystery Game Via Vine (Lilkely Wolfenstein Reboot)

Bethesda Softworks is on the verge of announcing what could be the next big thing, at least from them, based on a series of teases released via Vine.  Yup, video game devs/publishers are beginning to use the social media A.D.D. video service that is Vine to get folks like me to actually write about their games. Mission accomplished Bethesda.

Possible Screens From New Prince of Persia Project [Rumor]

Previously stated to be on “pause" while the powers that be thought of something to do with it, the Prince of Persia franchise could be poised for a substantial comeback that isn’t entirely rooted in the familiar reboot trappings we’ve seen in the past.

Disney and Sega Announce Castle of Illusion Remake

Disney continues to show their flexibility when it comes to their video game licenses, at least those that don’t feature Stormtroopers or Bounty Hunters, since Sega has announced an HD remake of the Sega Genesis classic Castle of Illusion.  One of the many games that the 25 year-old+ generation of gamers was reared on, Castle of Illusion will be comng into our homes once again on the PSN, XBLA, and PC.

Criterion Reportedly Not Doing NFS: Underground Remake

Rumors of another reboot in the Need for Speed franchise have now been debunked by Criterion Games Creative Director Alex Ward.  Originating from EGM, rumor had it that a reboot of NFS: Underground was in the works.

The rumor itself seemed plausible given the previous NFS reboots that have been released in recent years and reportedly jived with tidbits EGM had heard about such a thing. Though now it seems like the rumor is nothing but bunk.

Disney Infinity Trailer Shows Toy Box Creations, Wreck-It Ralph, and More

Disney may have absolutely no plans to push the Star Wars video game franchise in the way we want, yet the company is still giving it a shot when it comes to all things that fall under the magical kingdom.  Earlier this year we saw Disney enter the video game arena once more with perhaps their most ambitious effort: Disney Infinity.
