It also announced the cost: $19.99, along with including a bunch of new information about the game's power-ups.

Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun 32min Gameplay Video Unearthed!

It looks like a dedicated group of NeoGaf It looks like a dedicated group of NeoGaf investigators has unearthed a rather sizable look at the no-longer existent Legacy of Kain sequel: Dead Sun.

There's a full 32 minutes of the game (including intro video and title screen) available online (for who knows how long). If you're a fan of Legacy of Kain I highly recommend checking this one out. It looks like it could have had some potential at the minimum.

Republique Emerges From Its Chrysalis On PC and Mac

The tumultuous but successful Kickstarter for Republique back in 2012 was my first taste of crowd-funding. It was particularly thrilling because a number of the people involved including David Hayter and Jennifer Hale were here in Vancouver for an expo while the campaign was happening. It was also the first project that I decided to fund based on the director's clear philosophy.

Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault Preview

I'd like to represent the PC here at Shogun Gamer a little. In a wide world of varied video game devices including consoles, handhelds and beyond, each have their strengths and a role to fill--well except maybe the OUYA...

Dying Light - A Look At The Future Of Zombie Brain-Bashing

Zombies! A genre that is as undying as its slow shuffling stars.

Developer Techland, no stranger to zombie lore with their first outing Dead Island (which I was a big fan of) is creating a mighty ambitious open world zombie playground to explore, raise a little (more) hell and if a healthy dose of luck is on your side, maybe even survive. Maybe...

Far Cry 4: Unnecessary Animal Slaughter Simulator 2K14

As the sun set over Rook Island, I looked upon my works with joyful fatigue as the once-beleaguered native inhabitants celebrated their newfound freedom from the clutches of drug-fuelled madmen. I sniped soldiers, set C4 traps for the unaware enemy, and blew up Galapagos turtles for funsies. I wore my magical tattoos with pride as I vengefully tore through the jungles with naught but my knife and my almost pathological thirst for virtual blood.

Mighty No. 9 [First Impressions]

A couple of years back I had the opportunity to attend GDC (Game Developers Conference) thanks to my time here at Shogun. To this day I hold it to be the epitome of gaming conventions. If you have the opportunity to attend, you simply must.

Sky Pirates of Neo Terra and the One Million Facebook Likes

The good folks at Vancouver based social and mobile game developer, Fathom Interactive, recently celebrated their popular title, Sky Pirates of Neo Terra receiving one million likes on their Facebook page.  They did so, of course, by throwing a party, and Shogun Gamer was there for the partying to be had in strides!

This Month In Crowdfunding - January 2014 [Part 2]

Earlier this month I took a look at some of the more interesting titles that were in the middle of their crowdfunding campaigns. I highlighted a few of these games in hopes that I could bring them a little bit more attention, pushing them over their initial goals and up through their stretch goals.

Now I’d like to highlight some games that have either recently or long since finished their runs on Kickstarter; starting off with a quick look at the game that started off my crowdfunding addiction, Broken Age.

This Month In Crowdfunding - January 2014 [Part 1]

It’s still too early to say if crowdfunding will be a major and lasting influence on the gaming industry. We have yet to see just how many of these games are actually going to be completed, and just what affect unfulfilled promises will have on backer confidence. For the moment however, crowdfunding is a pretty major force in the indie game scene.
