Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 Announced

In a move that’s certainly to bring everyone’s ‘WTF’ meters to maximum, Nintendo announced today its follow up to last year’s epic duo Pokémon Black and White. The most interesting thing so far, has to be the titling. Bucking the previous conventions of the series (following up with a new color to follow up with the previous two) the series now gets its first “sequel.” Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 are apparently the next two games launching from the long-standing series, and will be releasing in Japan later this summer.

Potential Mega Awesome Dream Project In The Works Between Sega, Capcom, and Bandai Namco

A video game dream game may be in the works that could in turn be so damn cool that the world will simply implode since such a thing has never been experienced before. Either that or gamers will simply be disappointed by the end result in such a way that mass boycotts will be held against three major companies in the industry.  But here’s the lowdown: earlier today Nintendo teased of a mystery collaboration that’s going on between Capcom, Sega, and Bandai Namco that’s being done for the Nintendo 3DS.

Mass Effect 3 DLC, Nintendo Tease, Street Fighter Announcement - TL;DNR - Feb. 21st

Throughout the day, every day, plenty of stories tend to slip through Shogun’s cracks. That’s mainly because we pride ourselves on being a site that spends a little more time digging and going in-depth with the news items of the day that pique our personal interests… However, I want to try something a little different, a little “new.” Instead of inundating our readers with a plethora of short two-sentence news times through-out the day, I’m going to bundle a couple smaller, but still significant stories into a new segment I’m tentatively calling “TL;DNR” or Too Long; Did Not Read.

Nintendo Wii U Hands-on Impressions [CES 2012]

With the show floor now (finally) opened, the main event, at CES 2012, has begun. My first stop on the tour this morning was at a private showing for Nintendo, who was giving select members visiting the show the opportunity to go hands on with their newest toy, announced at last year’s E3, the Wii U.

While the games being demoed were noted as being little more than ‘concepts’ it was a great first opportunity to get an idea of the look and feel of the new console that Nintendo plans to unleash on their consumer base before the year’s end.

Shogun Gamer's Best of 2011 Awards - Finale

We’re back! I assume that you are all as excited to hear Shogun Gamer’s Day Two of Awards as much as we are to provide them. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on Day One, we’ve received warm reception so far on the new approach to award-supply that our team opted for this year, and we’re glad to hear that our little gamble paid off!

Shogun Gamer's Best of 2011 Awards - Day One

Not to get started out on a cliché here, but considering were now securely planted in 2012 with 2011 fading into the distance behind us; it seems like the perfect time for a little “Out with the old, in with the new.” And for a video game news blog like Shogun, that can be only one thing: Game of the Year! This year we’ve opted to change up the formula a little though.

Nintendo To Reportedly Feature App Store On Wii U

Since the rather lukewarm reveal it received at E3 2011, gamers have been waiting for a hook to be shown for the Wii U, Nintendo’s next-gen console entry that doesn’t have the flames of hype set just yet.  Most gamers, even those that aren’t Nintendo fans, all know that the Wii U will bring the goods when it comes to providing a HD Zelda or Mario game as we hardly receive duds in those franchises. But with that said there isn’t much appealing about the Wii U aside from it coming across as if a Wii and DS had a baby that was capable of HD graphics.

An Open Letter to Nintendo

Dear Nintendo,

It's no small secret that I love you. I have your Starman tattooed on my shoulder. I have one of every system you have ever produced, and yours are the games I remember the most fondly from my childhood.

My childhood is over now, and I have grown less than enthused with you recently.

EA's Origin Service Could Be Coming To The Wii U

The Wii U may have been revealed already but there are still a lot of things we don’t know about the console and likely won’t know until it re-emerges at E3 2012.  Nintendo’s direction with the Wii U seems somewhat unfocused as of now but one major bullet point that folks like Reggie Fils-Aime made known in countless interviews is that Nintendo will be trying to provide a better online infrastructure in both how gamers play games online and how they purchase their online based content.
