Shogun Gamer's Best of 2011 Awards - Day One

Not to get started out on a cliché here, but considering were now securely planted in 2012 with 2011 fading into the distance behind us; it seems like the perfect time for a little “Out with the old, in with the new.” And for a video game news blog like Shogun, that can be only one thing: Game of the Year! This year we’ve opted to change up the formula a little though.

This may be a case of either good news or bad news for some gamers, but Disney has accidently revealed that Epic Mickey 2 is indeed a reality instead of being a mere figment of our imagination.  While we still haven’t received official word from Disney Interactive pertaining to Epic Mickey 2, someone at Disney HQ accidentally sent a newsletter message confirming as much – complete with game details and when we can expect it.

The Nintendo Wii: A Retrospective

Since its release in 2006, the Nintendo Wii has to be both the most praised and the most criticized system of our generation. It was a pretty even split down the middle between people who loved the motion controls and hated them, as well as people who loved the casual, accessible games and hardcore gamers who couldn't be bothered. With the Wii U (I still hate that name) due out next year and the Wii losing much momentum over the past two years, it's time to wave good-bye to the system that ushered in the age of motion controls.

Activision Announces They're Doing A Men In Black Video Game

I don’t know who asked for either of these things, but Activision has announced that they’re prepping a video game based on Men in Black to coincide with the release of Men in Black 3, which of course is in 3D.  The third entry in the Men in Black series comes almost entirely unwanted by film goers who were less than thrilled with the second entry which simply told the same jokes and lacked any semblance of real character.

Diifii @ The Eurogamer Expo 2011 [Video]

September in London has been an eventful month for me so far. Peculiarly it has been the sunniest month of the year so far, but that’s just the weird British weather that never fails to surprise. It has also been the month I joined an online dating site, and have been going on a new date every week now. But still one event has managed to top all of these events. Oh yes, the four day event in the very posh Earl's Court region: the Eurogamer Expo.

Nintendo To Release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword "Golden" Bundle.

In the world of Collector's Edition, Limited Edition and "Insert Random Word Here" Editions, Wii games don't usually see that many get released for them. Now Nintendo is looking to offer their Wii fans some Collector's Edition love with the announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Bundle.

The Mega Leaks Continue With A Look At Ubisoft's Tablet Device

A lot of different trends have popped up in gaming this generation, some of which have been targeted towards the casual audience.  Core gamers do know how to support certain properties but if you give casual gamers something with a bit of flash then they simply eat it up, a key example being Microsoft’s Kinect.  One trend that we haven’t seen too much in gaming but will surely grow on a bigger scale is the use of tablets for gaming.  THQ released their uDraw tablet for the Wii last year (the PS3/360 version is coming out this Winter) and Nintendo is of course prepping the Wii

Like The Black Eyed Peas? Well Here's A Look At Their New Video Game [Screens]

It’s normal for people to change slightly as the years go by but what the hell happened to the Black Eyed Peas?  Back in the late 1990s the group was a soul R&B group that had some nice buttery beats and some cool music videos.  But I guess the lack of huge album sales resulted in Fergie joining the group and Wil.I.Am turning into a black Astro Boy when the situation calls for it.
