Publishers Reportedly Already Eyeing THQ Properties [Rumor]

The last week or so hasn’t been all too kind to THQ since it seems like the company is perpetually stuck in a brutal 9th round fight against an opponent that is unrelenting. After announcing that several core titles would receive slight release bumps that would see them released in mid 2013, the stock of THQ plummeted drastically and in turn chatter has arisen that talks are already underway with several other publishers to acquire existing properties such as the beloved Saint Row series.

Is Capcom Prepping A Monster Hunter Movie?

Capcom may be readying another film adaptation of a core video game property, which based on the history of the company will either be a massive commercial and critical dud at the box office or will likely never become anything more than a mere pitch.  After giving us film versions of Street Fighter, Capcom is apparently preparing a film adaptation for none other than Monster Hunter.

Best of PAX Prime 2012

First of all, before the merriment of an award ceremony (in text format) I want to offer a quick apology for our readership. This year’s PAX Prime information will be coming to you a day (or rather a couple of days late) due to an unhealthy amount of poor planning on our part, in conjunction with some rather unfortunate circumstances…

Sega Shifts Company Focus, Plans New Software Strategy

Sometimes when a rumor actually pans out it’s a cool occasion since it heralds a new game announcement or simply a cool development that pleases a part of the gaming community. But every once in a while we see a rumor become reality that we never actually wanted to happen since it’s nothing but bad news all around. As rumored earlier this year, Sega has announced a slight restructuring plan that could see the company eventually go the THQ route by focusing on smaller projects.

Disney Epic Mickey: The Power Of Two Hands-On [E3 2012]

When a sequel comes along the usual sentiments or desires from gamers is that they want a bigger and better experience with a host of new features and refinements. Most of the time we receive sequels that fulfill such a thing and once in a blue moon we get a sequel that is so bad that we immediately lose all faith in such a way that it can never be restored.

Nintendo’s Disappointing E3 2012 Press Briefing

Nintendo has been a confusing mistress these past few months. Having grown up fiercely loyal to Nintendo through NES, SNES and N64 consoles, I have a nostalgic soft spot for Mario and the gang. This year, everyone knew Wii U would be a hot topic at E3 2012. Few things in gaming can generate buzz like console launch news, so all eyes were on Nintendo.  Did they steal the show? Nope.

Nintendo Direct: Nintendo's Pre-E3 Show is Live NOW

Unfortunately I won’t be down at E3 myself personally this year, but that does give me the opportunity to have an expanded view of the show. While Corey and Ian are settling in, we (outside of the convention) can catch up on some of the pre-show goings on. If you already missed it, Konami did their show late last week, and today Nintendo is showcasing what they’re bringing to the show, namely the Wii U and its controllers:

Grimlock Transforms In New Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron Trailer

Today we got our first look at actual gameplay footage from Highmoon Studios’ Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. More importantly we got our first look at the fearless Dinobot leader Grimlock in action.

Nintendo Confirms Two Wii U Titles

Glorious of days! We got some big confirmation from big N today, regarding certain E3 Wii U rumours.

Nintendo confirmed with website Eurogamer, that both Super Mario Bros. and Pikmin 3 will be unveiled at this year’s E3 convention in June. Shigeru Miyamotto spilled the beans in a recent interview with a Spanish news outlet. I’d hate to be the translator for that conversation.

Disney Epic Mickey 2 Premier Trailer Is Bright, Cheery, And Rather Samey [Updated With Gameplay Footage]

Gamers may have a moment of déjà vu upon watching the first trailer for Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two as it looks like a 1:1 match of the first Epic Mickey.  While the game was officially announced earlier this week a great many of us already knew about the game thanks to a leaked online survey which basically outlined the entire game.  Even with game details known in a considerable fashion, a big factor that remained about Epic Mickey 2 was how the game would look on the HD platforms seeing as this is the first game Junction Point has developed for those platforms.
