Pro-Tips: Pokémon Part 1

It’s been 14-years since Nintendo introduced the world to one of the best selling role-playing games of all time, Pokémon... and just like creatures you train, the game has evolved over the years. In this Pro-Tips, we’ll break down everything there is to know about those cute killing machines, how to become the best trainer like no one ever was, and what you can expect when Pokémon Black and White 2 hits store shelves.

PortsCenter Interview With Ben Paddon

Since the great Tim Schafer/Double Fine incident earlier this year we’ve seen a lot of projects go the Kickstarter route. Most of these project have been of various genres and game types, some of which were beyond cool while others came across as somewhat interesting if a tad familiar.

Nintendo’s Disappointing E3 2012 Press Briefing

Nintendo has been a confusing mistress these past few months. Having grown up fiercely loyal to Nintendo through NES, SNES and N64 consoles, I have a nostalgic soft spot for Mario and the gang. This year, everyone knew Wii U would be a hot topic at E3 2012. Few things in gaming can generate buzz like console launch news, so all eyes were on Nintendo.  Did they steal the show? Nope.

Support The History Of Video Games With The Book High Score

To a lot of gamers video games have been a daily part of our lives for an incredibly long time, or at least since we were old enough to hold a controller, mash some buttons, and deduct that shooting the bad guy or repeatedly hitting them guarantees us complete victory.

TL;DR - Mar 23 - Mohawks, Prey 2, Adventure Time!

Happy Friday fellow Shogunites! The week, as long as it may have felt, has finally concluded its grind. Its time to kick back, relax, and dig into whatever game you’re currently working your way through… unless you’re the going out on Friday night kind, in which case: Happy Saturday! Today’s TL;DR offers up some exciting news for the DS in the form of an Adventure Time game. Ubisoft is making plans to shave heads and tattoo attendees at PAX East (exciting!), and some GDC cancellations have the internet talking games that might be canned.

Activision Reveals Another Transformers Game

The Transformers franchise may have been somewhat sullied by a movie trilogy that was the embodiment of dumb and abysmal (at least to fans of the original property), but at least the Transformers are still rolling out in some hopefully good video games.  Besides the forthcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Activision has just announced a new Transformers game that may be geared towards the younger gamers but aren’t we all young at heart?

Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 Announced

In a move that’s certainly to bring everyone’s ‘WTF’ meters to maximum, Nintendo announced today its follow up to last year’s epic duo Pokémon Black and White. The most interesting thing so far, has to be the titling. Bucking the previous conventions of the series (following up with a new color to follow up with the previous two) the series now gets its first “sequel.” Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 are apparently the next two games launching from the long-standing series, and will be releasing in Japan later this summer.

The Strange, Strange World of Pokémon

I am going to give you a dramatic reveal: I am a Pokémon freak. I am in my mid-20s, and I own every single version of the North American releases. I buy the new generations, I beat the Champions, and God help me I trade with eight-year-olds over the Internet.

Aliens: Infestation For The Nintendo DS Is Officially Announced And Dated

Thought to be long dead, Aliens: Infestation for the Nintendo DS thankfully came back to life, almost in a surprise way akin to a sole xenomorph messing things up Alien 3 style (that intro still has me pissed nearly twenty years later).  As we all saw back in May, an Australian government certification website revealed that Aliens: Infestation for the DS was still alive and kicking and now Sega has officially announced the project.
