District 9 Blu-ray to feature God of War 3 demo

In a somewhat odd pairing Sony has announced that the Blu-ray version of the sci-fi drama District 9 will include a demo for God of War 3.  So if you weren’t planning on picking up the God of War Collection which includes a download voucher for the game you can try out Kratos’ latest adventure if you were planning to pick up D9.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have a new owner

I don't think we should worry about this but today Viacom has just bought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle franchise from Mirage and 4Kids Entertainment.  In particular the Nickelodeon branch of Viacom is the new home for the Turtles.

Along with the already known about live-action reboot there's also plans for a CG cartoon to coincide with the release of the film in 2012.

Exclusive interview with director Uwe Boll

You either love him or hate him but you have to be honest and say that Uwe Boll is a pretty entertaining chap.  His brutal honesty both when discussing his films and Hollywood in general is rather refreshing amongst all the fakeness that occupies the entertainment industry.  And while his past video game films have been a bit rough and have at times ruined the source material he has been greatly improving as a director with POSTAL being an extremely underrated gem.

Promo trailer for the action epic The Expendables (non bootleg version)

Last month a bootleg trailer for the Slyvester Stallone action epic The Expendables was leaked.  While grainy the trailer did more than enough to hype up those who were looking forward to the film and allieviate any worries some had.  Today a proper version of the trailer has been released and seeing Sly and Jason Statham mess fools up never looked like so much fun.

Sam Raimi reveals who will be writing the World of Warcraft movie

The somewhat odd video game movie news continues after last week’s Dante’s Inferno news as today we have an update on the World of Warcraft movie.  Speaking to the MTV Movie Blog director Sam Raimi (yeah, the dude who made Evil Dead and Spider-Man is helming WoW) said that writer Robert Rodat is putting together a script that really feels like a WoW adventure.  Now that isn't particularly an exciting piece of news or an interesting comment except for the

A writer is chosen for the Dante's Inferno film

Even before it was officially announced EA’s upcoming Dante’s Inferno was an extremely hot commodity especially when it came to the film adaptation.  I guess either EA must’ve done one hell of a pitch or the movie studios were starving for projects since there was a bidding war over the rights for the film before a single screenshot or actual details about the game were released.

An Academy Award winning actor joins the cast of Predators

If you haven’t heard already due to living in a cave Robert Rodriguez (Desperado, Sin City) is producing a new Predator film based on a script he wrote a few years ago. But unlike his other projects Robert won’t be stepping in the directors’ chair as that honor goes to Nimrod Antal.

First teaser for the movie relaunch of the classic cg cartoon ReBoot

Back in the mid 90s before Pixar released Toy Story a Vancouver based company named Mainframe Entertainment beat Pixar to the punch by producing a weekly half hour CG cartoon called ReBoot.  ReBoot was almost an updated version of Tron as it took place inside a computer and followed the adventures of Guardian Bob as he fought off the evil virus Megabyte.  While the show may sound simple it was actually exceptionally written as it featured a nice amount of actual tec

Daft Punk to appear in Tron Legacy

We all know that French techno sensation Daft Punk will be scoring the highly awaited "Tron Legacy" but actress Olivia Wilde just let it slip that the duo will also be making an appearance in the film as well. Speaking to MTV Olivia said that Daft Punk are in the film but didn't divulge any details such as how they would be worked in or how long they would be in the movie.

Liam Neeson looks badass in this new pic from Clash of the Titans

I don't know why we haven't seen more movies based around Greek mythology. The characters and stories are rich and are prime material for a summer action movie or a smaller dramatic film so it's quite odd why Hollywood or anyone else hasn't jumped on the Greek mythology bandwagon.  Damn, I think the last movie to tackle it was Clash of the Titans back in 1981 and now since that movie is being remade we'll finally getting some more Greek mythology goodness.

In case you care here are some images from The Green Hornet

Outside of casting news we have no clue what the hell to expect from the film version of “The Green Hornet.”  When the movie was first announced writer/star Seth Rogan said the movie would be quite serious but then Stephen Chow came aboard and was reportedly going to incorporate some of his comical trademarks in the film but then exited the project due to creative differences. And who the hell knows if the once rumored plot that the movie would revolved around a world where superheroes are rich stoners is still true.

Its headshaking time: a Spore movie is in the works

Sometimes I really wish I could sit in on the meetings where movie studio execs listen to pitches for new films or the meetings where the fate of a film is determined.  Sitting in a room with a bunch of people who have no clue what the property is about, such as the infamous Joel Silver Tomb Raider pitch in the mid 90s where he thought the hero was a male character, must be an absolute laugh riot and a bit scary as well since these are the folks who decide what will hit theaters and what won’t.

Michael Bay tells us when we can see his next attempt at ruining the Transformers

After giving us an ok action movie and following that up with probably one of the biggest pieces of trash to ever hit theaters with a massive budget Michael Bay and co. are ready to go at it again with Transformers 3.

If you're a King of Fighters fan then prepare to cry after watching this footage from the KoF movie

When it came to the upcoming King of Fighters movie no one was really expecting it to be that good. The small teaser footage that we saw a few months ago wasn't that hot and people's thoughts on the project further went down when some publicity stills were released showing the actors whose wardrobe looked like they walked out of a cosplay convention.

Chris Redfield joins the cast of Resident Evil: Afterlife

I thought the Resident Evil movies were ok films if you look at them as their own separate thing not connected to the games but based on the latest casting update for Resident Evil: Afterlife I can’t help but become a bit disappointed.
