Tank! Tank! Tank! Hands-On [E3 2012]

I think it’s relatively safe to say that Nintendo’s E3 2012 press conference was an astounding bust of such epic proportions that it nearly rivals Sony’s infamous E3 2006 press conference. There may not have been any massive enemy crabs or soul crunching announcements of a $599 price point, but the lack of firm details and constant tip-toeing about certain things resulted in a showing from Nintendo that was almost embarrassing as it played things more safe than even how Sony does sometimes.

Nintendo Direct: Nintendo's Pre-E3 Show is Live NOW

Unfortunately I won’t be down at E3 myself personally this year, but that does give me the opportunity to have an expanded view of the show. While Corey and Ian are settling in, we (outside of the convention) can catch up on some of the pre-show goings on. If you already missed it, Konami did their show late last week, and today Nintendo is showcasing what they’re bringing to the show, namely the Wii U and its controllers:

NetherRealm Studios (Mortal Kombat) Reveal Injustice: Gods Among Us, A New DC Comics Based Brawler

Marvel may be beating DC in a lot of areas recently as most comic book fans and general geeks will say that stuff like The Avengers and even how Marvel is handling their comic books is leagues better than what DC has done. Now I’m not trying to ignite a mass fanboy war of some kind, but there will always be those who dig what Marvel does and in some ways it’s obvious that DC is lagging behind in some form.  Whatever may have transpired in the past DC may be on the way to beating Marvel when it comes to one specific area: providing a good fighting video game.

Aliens: Colonial Marines Is Finally Given A Release Date

At long last Sega has finally announced a release date for Aliens: Colonial Marines, the oft-delayed Aliens fps game that could either be amazing and give fans of the Aliens franchise everything they want or it could be so bad that being impregnated by a face hugger would be a more enjoyable experience.  Originally set to drop in the first half of 2012, Sega and developer Gearbox Software decided to let Aliens: Colonial Marines bake in the oven a bit more since I guess an estimated four year+ dev time wasn’t enough to ensure the product was in tip top shape.

Kinect and Wii U Superhero Action Is Coming With The Avengers: Battle For Earth

Seeing as how the movie made a bazillion dollars in a mere week, Ubisoft and Marvel decided to let the cat out of the bag by announcing The Avengers: Battle For Earth.  Hinted at last weekend, Ubisoft is indeed making a game based on Earth’s mightiest heroes but there are a few surprises in store which could make the game either a mega hit or an unbearable disappointment in the eyes of gamers and comic book fans.

Nintendo Confirms Two Wii U Titles

Glorious of days! We got some big confirmation from big N today, regarding certain E3 Wii U rumours.

Nintendo confirmed with website Eurogamer, that both Super Mario Bros. and Pikmin 3 will be unveiled at this year’s E3 convention in June. Shigeru Miyamotto spilled the beans in a recent interview with a Spanish news outlet. I’d hate to be the translator for that conversation.

New Aliens: Colonial Marines Screens and Video May Either Please Or Disappoint You

If there’s one sci-fi FPS game that people seem to be generally excited about its Aliens: Colonial Marines.  Being the franchise that initially started the space marine craze, at least in the world of cinema, Aliens was a kick-ass film and having the opportunity to experience that in a video game is something that may be too good to pass up, even if we’re all sick and tired of dudebro corridor shooters.

Assassin's Creed Wii U details surface

A few weeks ago, we told you that Assassin’s Creed III would be making its way onto the Nintendo Wii U. Today, we can answer the question on everyone’s mind, how will the controller be integrated into the gameplay?

The latest issue of Nintendo Power has listed several features the touch screen controller will utilize in the forthcoming iteration of Assassin’s Creed.  The controller will act as the gateway to the Animus, where key details will appear on the screen.

Silicon Knights' Denis Dyack Teases Of A Popular IP Returning Soon

This could be yet another set-up for major disappointment, but Silicon Knights honcho Denis Dyack is once again making some moderately bold claims about the company. No, Dyack has yet to completely lose his mind as he hasn’t gone on a popular message board to post something that only a 12 year-old troll would do, but he has instead made a tease about a supposedly major project his studio is working on.

Assassin’s Creed 3 Trailer And Release Date Have Arrived

As we reported last week, Ubisoft would be making a big announcement and today we got our first look at Assassin’s Creed 3.

The game will take place in 1777, during the American Revolutionary War. Players take the role of Connor and as we speculated last week he is of Native American descent. Watching the trailer closely you can catch a few details about the game.
