Assassin's Creed III Preview [PAX Prime 2012]

Hopefully by now you’ve had an opportunity to peruse our awards from PAX Prime 2012. If you haven’t, take a quick peek, because I’m about to go into full-on fanboy mode for our Best of Show winner: Assassin’s Creed III.

Far Cry 3 Hands-on [PAX Prime 2012]

Here’s the problem I have with the Far Cry series, as a whole: It demos really, really well. Every single time they put a demo out there, and I go hands-on for the first time, I find myself absolutely blown away. The problem being that the games themselves, when you get that full-version game you’re so excited for, always seem to drop the ball somehow.

Ubisoft Set To Announce New Project This Week, Could Be New Call of Juarez Game

The carnival of stupid and unnecessary hype that sometimes occurs within the video game industry is once again active thanks to the folks over at Ubisoft.  Gamers may already know what to expect from Ubisoft in the next few months as we’re getting yet another Assassin’s Creed game, some casual shovelware dance/singing games, and of course the second reboot of Splinter Cell which has Sam Fisher in full-on dudebro killing mode.  However “predictable” Ubisoft’s forthcoming line-up may be, the company is on the cusp of announcing a new project.

Heroes and Villains Go At It Again In This New Trailer For Avengers: Battle for Earth

Chances are there are a bunch of people still amped over The Avengers and are likely counting down the days until the movie is released on Blu-ray next month, including Shogun’s very own Casey White. As a superhero movie The Avengers was pretty kick ass and I’ll even be upfront in saying that I did prefer it ever so slightly compared to The Dark Knight Rises.  Since comic book and video game fans are still yearning for some Avengers action in lieu of waiting three more years for the sequel to come out, then perhaps Ubisoft’s upcoming Avengers based brawler will satisfy that need.

Is This Our First Look At The Prince of Persia Reboot? [Rumor]

Just when I thought this weekend would be a complete bore a supposed screenshot for what could be Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia reboot has surfaced.  We haven’t seen much of the Prince of Persia franchise since the infamous 2010 incident in which we received the double-whammy of the mediocre PoP film starring the dreamy Jake Gyllenhaal and the obvious cash-in PoP video game Ubisoft opted to release.

The Hit TV Show Spartacus Enters The Video Game Arena With Spartacus Legends

This happens rarely, but I find myself incredibly excited for a video game based on a TV show despite having the odds stacked against it actually being good.  With the new trend being to develop games based on popular cable shows, Ubisoft and Starz Entertainment have announced Spartacus Legends, a new PSN/XBLA game based on the hit series Spartacus.

The Assassin's Creed Movie Gets A Major Actor For The Lead Role

Perhaps it’s merely wishful thinking, but our first truly great video game film could come in the form of the forthcoming live-action Assassin’s Creed movie. Previously it was rumored that Sony won the bidding rights to release the Assassin’s Creed movies, but now it has been revealed that none other than actor Michael Fassbender will star in the movie.

The Expendables 2 Video Game Is Finally Revealed In An Official Capacity

After receiving rumors for the last few months we finally received confirmation of something that some of us had been anticipating: the video game tie-in for The Expendables 2.  The prospect of partaking in some sort of video game adaptation of a movie starring former action icons whose combined testosterone level would exceed 9,000 would’ve been an absolute delight to play if it was pulled off the right way.

Footage Of The Expendables 2: The Video Game Is Beyond Description [Update]

The extent that video game and movie companies will go in order to reach a profit is frightening sometimes. Knowing that a studio has sunk millions upon millions of dollars to create a film only to throw a mere penny or two to develop a video game and in turn potentially diminish the property is just asinine but at this point that’s simply the natural order of things.  There’s not much else to say about how terrible games based on movies can be but what do you think the result will be when a game based on The Expendables 2 is made?

Splinter Cell Could Be Sneaking Into Movie Theaters In The Distant Future

After the apparent bidding war that erupted over a film adaptation of Need For Speed, Hollywood is pining for yet another hot video game property that could become the next big film franchise for a lucky studio.  Thankfully the latest video game to make the jump to the big screen makes more sense than a live-action NFS film but at the same time it could be too little too late for the hardcore fans of the series.
