EVO 2011: Wrap Up and Winner's Lists

For anyone that still wasn’t aware, though I’ve been trying my damnedest to provide hype for the last year, EVO (the king of fighting game tournaments) took place over this past weekend. Three full days of fighting games, tournaments, side-pots, drama and announcements galore were offered up from the fine people at Mad Catz, EVO 2K, Capcom, Atlus and others.

For those of you in the know, this weekend marked the return of EVO in Las Vegas Nevada! The three-day tournament showcased fighting talent from across the globe with over 3000 competitors across the board! This year’s show will go down as one of the most interesting as it had a heaping helping of drama, upsets, close calls, and epic come backs!

Today is a good day if you’re a Tekken fan as Namco Bandai finally announced the release date for the game along with announcing a very interesting and pricey Limited Edition sku.

Tekken 6 to feature "ground-breaking online modes"

On the latest episode of the Major Nelson podcast Tekken brand manager Joon Wang teased that the upcoming Tekken 6 for the PS3/360 will feature “ground-breaking online modes.” Joon of course didn’t say what the modes will be or give any hints and merely said that more will be revealed at E3 next week.

The resurgence of the PSP continues with the announcement of Tekken 6

At this point most gamers are tired of the "09 is the year of PS3" or similiar sayings of that ilk but you can't help but agree with that sentiment when its said for the PSP. The system seems to be on an absolute roll as of late with upcoming titles like MotorStorm: Artic Edge, Assassins Creed, Socom: Fireteam Bravo 3 and today it was announced that the massive fighting franchise Tekken would be making it's second appearance on the PSP in the form of Tekken 6.
