Team Ico

New interview for The Last Guardian has some interesting tidbits

Not only is there a massive amount of hype surrounding The Last Guardian, but there’s also a great deal of mystery surrounding the project.  The somewhat enigmatic nature of Team Ico’s new game isn’t too surprising since there was an equal amount of mystery surrounding Ico and The Last Guardian. But still, gamers are so enamored with the world of TLG that they’re already wondering what connection, if any, The Last Guardian has to Ico and SOTC.

Once again The Last Guardian shows how damn gorgeous it is [Video/Screens]

Many of us were disappointed that The Last Guardian didn’t make an impact let alone have a presence at E3 this year. I for one was a bit bummed out as deep inside I was hoping the game would be playable on the show floor. Alas I just had to settle for Motorstorm: Apocalypse for my dose of Sony goodness. But now thanks to the Tokyo Game Show we have some amazing new screenshots and another spectacular trailer for The Last Guardian.

First footage and new screens of the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection

For some reason I’m still buzzed about the reveal that Sony is giving Ico and Shadow of the Colossus the HD treatment. Being a huge fan of Team Ico, getting the chance to replay both games in HD along with the added bonus of Trophies and 3D support makes the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection one hell of a package.

Breathtaking new screens for Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD and The Last Guardian

As hokey as this will sound, I think we’re all blessed as gamers to be getting Ico in HD, Shadow of the Colossus in HD and more importantly The Last Guardian. All three of those games have some of the most breathtaking visuals to ever appear in the history of video games and Ico & Shadow of the Colossus have really strong narrative elements which really add that extra dimension to things.

It's official: Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD remixes are coming to the PS3

I wouldn’t say this has been a worst kept secret scenario, but Famitsu has today confirmed that both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus will be getting the HD treatment for the PS3.  For the past few months, and the last couple days in particular, rumors have swirled that the beloved games from Team Ico would be getting the HD treatment similar to the God of War Collection and the upcoming Sly Cooper Collection.

[MAJOR RUMOR] Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD remix is becoming a reality

Last year PS3 gamers got an incredible package in the form of the God of War Collection which featured the first two GOW games in glorious HD.  The release of the God of War Collection was definitely something PS3 gamers had wished for, especially in the wake of the PS3 losing backwards compatibility. But besides God of War there was one other collection gamers wanted – a Team Ico collection featuring Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

The Last Guardian is set to appear at TGS 2010

After some initial worry that Team Ico’s new PS3 game The Last Guardian would be missing in action at TGS, Sony has confirmed that it will in fact be at the show.

It’s unclear if this will be a media blow out of sorts for The Last Guardian, but creator and Team Ico head Fumito Ueda will be hosting a Q&A along with giving a brief demo of the game.  Obviously this could be one of those cases where we’ll get screwed and won’t have any new media, but at least we’re bound to get a few details about the game and some juicy comments from Fumito.

An interesting patent arises from Team Ico

One game PS3 gamers are eagerly anticipating is The Last Guardian, the latest game from Team Ico.  Since it was unveiled last year at E3, we’ve sadly gotten no new details on Team Ico’s upcoming masterpiece. But with the Tokyo Game Show around the corner we’re bound to get something new, even if it’s just another 1 minute trailer. But as pre-cursor to the potential TGS announcements, an interesting patent has arisen that originates from Fumito Ueda, the main man of Team Ico.

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus could be headed to the PS3

It seems that Sony has listened to what gamers have said as it’s once again rumored that HD versions of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are bound for the PS3.  This is still a rumor at this stage but TheSixthAxis is reporting that the Team Ico Collection is bound for a Q1 2011 release.  That’s good and all but it probably means that we won’t be seeing Team Ico’s The Last Guardian until early next year as well.

This new trailer for The Last Guardian will leave you wanting more

The Last Guardian may not be playable at TGS but a new trailer for the game has been released to tide over those wanting more info and media on the project.

This new trailer is a bit on the short side and doesn't really feature any new areas or gameplay footage but it does show off how damn beautiful the game is and how much detail Team Ico is cramming into everything.  I demand Sony release an interactive theme for the PS3 where it's just the cat-bird thing sleeping while occasionally stretching as I would gladly pay $2.99 for that.
