Soul Calibur

A Popular Assassin May Be Joining The Roster Of Soul Calibur 5

So far things are looking good for Soul Calibur 5 based on the small amounts of footage and details we’ve received so far.  Namco and Team Soul may not be drastically reinventing the Soul Calibur formula, but tweaking things a bit and even doing other things like downsizing the average chest size of a female character from a triple-D to a medium C cup hasn’t even left gamers mad.

Soul Calibur V Is Official And We Have A Teaser Trailer

The fighting game resurgence continues with Namco Bandai officially revealing Soul Calibur V.  After getting a teaser site a few weeks ago and official word from the Director that work was well underway with the fifth iteration of the series, we all knew that another Soul Calibur game was coming but now we have good reason to get excited over the prospect of more weapons based combat.

Namco Bandai Launches Soul Calibur Teaser Site

This year seems like the fighting game genre is getting a major resurgence with the release and subsequent success of games like Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Mortal Kombat.  Those two aforementioned and highly awesome games aren’t all we have for the next year or so as games like Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Street Fighter X Tekken/Tekken X Street Fighter are on the horizon as well.  But Namco Bandai isn’t just happy with releasing two core fighting games in the next year as they’re also bringing back the mid-century weapon based action of Soul Calibur.

RUMOR OF THE DECADE: Capcom vs. Namco/Namco vs. Capcom

This is one of those cases where an amazing rumor has popped up and if it doesn’t pan out there’s going to be an angry mob that descends upon the rumor source. Generally Game Informer has always been on the mark, but I hope for their sake that this rumor is true or at least is announced later this year if not this week.  So let’s get to the rumor: reportedly Capcom and Namco Bandai are teaming up for a fighting game crossover in the form of Capcom vs. Namco.
