Sonic the Hedgehog 4

The saga of whether or not Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will be any good continues thanks to some new rumors from NeoGAF. You may have read our story yesterday about how it looks like Tails & Knuckles will work their way into later episodes of Sonic 4 and today’s news isn’t too horrific but it still raises some questions as to whether Sega truly knows what they’re doing with the game.

Despite the past atrocities there’s a decent amount of hope that the recently announced Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will be a return to form for Sega and the Sonic franchise.  Based on the teaser trailers and images we’ve seen so far the game looks to be on the right track but of course none of us are naïve enough to believe that everything is going to be what we all want it to be. But that could change due to today's Sonic 4 update.

This week’s episode features a change of hands in terms of show host. Robert takes the lead in the discuss giving me a much needed break from trying to harness the madness that formulates from a group of drunk geeks getting together to rant about video games (while allowing me drink far more than usual). The show features talk on some of the big announcements from this week, including but not limited to: Sonic 4, The Prison Break Game, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, and Hamlet.

After getting vague trailers and uneventful media teases Sega has lifted the veil off of the next Sonic game. Not only is the next Sonic game going old-school with its presentation and visuals but it’s also keeping things simple with the name. Titled Sonic the Hedgehog 4 the game is a direct sequel to Sonic 3 and it once again has players traversing various loops and twisty paths in glorious visuals that evoke that nostalgic feel since they’re a throwback to the good old days of the Sega Genesis.
