Angry Birds Movie Is Still A Thing, New Creative Talent Announced

Easily put into the section of “Why is this happening?” that gamers sometimes like to go into upon hearing a piss-poor announcement, some additional details have been shared on the Angry Birds movie.  After becoming a run away success which has given Rovio a new golden goose which has enabled them to partner up with LucasArts and Star Wars for maximum cash grab potential, Angry Birds is now set on ruling the world of cinema as well.

Our worst fears have come true as Angry Birds Star Wars is an actual thing.  After being teased last Friday with a near horrifying image of an Angry Bird character dressed as a Jedi Knight, LucasArts and Rovio have announced their partnership which does indeed span video games, toys, and even Halloween costumes.

The Star Wars franchise may officially be beyond the point of no return as far as its video game efforts are concerned.  We may all love a good space battle or a lightsaber fight, but the Star Wars franchise is now traveling into a level of product cross-over/pure cash grab moment that may be completely unjustified.

VFS Game Design Expo 2011

A few weeks back I got to take part in the annual Vancouver Film School’s Game Design Expo. For the second year in a row, the VFS GDE was phenomenal. The event itself is very much based on drawing students to the game design program that is offered at VFS. The build of the weekend event is a Saturday filled with interviews and a Sunday chalked full of Campus and Course overview.
