Invizimals Cartoon Set To Premiere In 2013

Sony is finally expanding on one of their core gaming properties in the TV space but it may not be the franchise you would’ve expected to receive such treatment. Set to air late next year will be an animated version of Invizimals, the monster hunting/1v1 brawler that made its debut on the PSP.  Far from being one of the pillars of the PlayStation brand, Invizimals managed to catch on quite heavily over in Europe thus an animated series is in the works.

Media Molecule Already Working On New Unannounced Project

One of the big surprises made during Sony’s Gamescom presentation this week was the reveal of Tearaway, the new IP from Media Molecule. After giving the world the game that keeps on giving in the form of LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule has gone on to create a game that features the same whimsical tone but is a bit more direct and dare I say it traditional in how it’s executed.  It was a bit surprising that Media Molecule revealed that their new IP was a PlayStation Vita game, but fear not as the folks over in Guildford are indeed working on a second project.

Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time Joins The 2013 Crowd [Update]

He may be able to sneak past officers of the law and pull off elaborate heists, but even Sly Cooper can’t evade the always dreaded occurrence of a game delay. Amidst Sony’s amazing Gamescom conference yesterday the company announced that the forthcoming return of the Sly Cooper series in Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time would be bumped to 2013.

New Sonic & All Star Racing Transformed Trailer Reveals Additional Stages

It’s not often we see two major kart racing games released within the same period but such a thing is indeed happening this Holiday season. Not only is Sony stepping up to the plate with LittleBigPlanet Karting, but Sega is also returning to the kart racing genre with Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed.  A sequel to the 2010 kart racer which proved that Sega still has some of their classic magic, All Stars Racing Transformed features the same core formula but with a few added tricks up its sleeve.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified (PS Vita Game) Set To Debut At Gamescom

In the off chance that you’ve been living in a cave for the past few weeks or are generally oblivious to most things, the wonderful event that is Gamescom is kicking off next week. A smaller scale version of E3 centered on the European gaming market, Gamescom has always been the home of key announcements and reveals despite the show growing smaller in past years. So far we haven’t heard much in the way of rumored Gamescom announcements from those set to attend, but one thing that will be making its long awaited debut is Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified.

New PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Leak Reveals Additional Stages and Characters

Sony doesn’t have a packed line-up of megaton titles for this Holiday season since The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls are slated for 2013, but they do have a few key titles such as PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.  The franchise smash-up brawler has been the constant source of debate amongst gamers who aren’t that pleased with an apparent Smash Bros. “clone” while others are beyond excited to deliver an ass-whooping to Kratos while playing as Fat Princess.

Need For Speed Most Wanted Ups The Ante In This New Video

At E3 last month EA and Criterion did us a solid by bringing back Need For Speed Most Wanted albeit in a different form.  The Most Wanted name may be back, but as Criterion did with NFS Hot Pursuit, the Guildford based studio is putting their own unique spin on the game which of course puts fast racing to the forefront along with a healthy amount of car chases and elaborate wrecks.

Papo & Yo Is Finally Given A Release Date + PSN PLAY Promotion Is Unveiled (New PSN Games Galore)

One of 2012’s main GOTY candidates now has a release date and a much sought after price confirmation. No, I’m not talking about Halo 4 or some other major triple-A franchise game but am instead referring to the ever amazing Papo & Yo.  Since being unveiled last year the game hasn’t had a release window but now Sony has announced that the game will be made available on the PlayStation Network next month.

Spy Hunter Hands-On [E3 2012]

Seeing old games return on new platforms is always an entertaining thing that never really has the same stigma as when Hollywood opts to remake a classic film. Bringing back an old video game is certainly a playing it safe type of thing, but at the same time such a move does result in fans being happy and a new generation of gamers get the chance to experience a particular franchise for the first time.  At E3 this year I was able to play a new version of game that seemingly has been around as long as Pac-Man and Mario, none other than the legendary action series Spy Hunter.

Will Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified Give The PlayStation Vita A Much Needed Boost?

So far the PlayStation Vita hasn’t exactly been a booming success right out of the gate. While most console launches are far from perfect for a variety of reasons (defective hardware, limited supplies, poor software), the Vita hasn’t been a flop but it hasn’t lived up to the success Sony has had when launching prior consoles.  The low sales numbers the Vita received in Japan have been particularly distressing considering the solid software line-up Sony put together which catered to a variety of tastes and interests.
