New screens of IllFonic's fps game Nexuiz

When they’re not getting arrested by accident the good folks over at IllFonic are hard at work on Nexuiz, a new fps game.  Based on the PC open-source game originally developed by AlienTrap, Nexuiz aims to bring a simple yet action packed fps experience to console gamers. The game itself almost harkens back to the good old days of Quake as it’s essentially a no-frills arena fps game.

The Grinder gets a change in genre for its PS3/360 debut

With the PS3 now supporting motion control with the PlayStation Move and essentially becoming as some like to call it “Wii HD”, we shouldn’t be too surprised if certain Wii games are ported up to the PS3.  In fact even it was a mere month ago when developer High Voltage Software announced they would be taking their supernatural themed fps game The Grinder to the PS3/360.

Ignition Entertainment announces Blacklight: Tango Down, a new fps for PSN/XBLA

The PSN and XBLA already have a nice roster of content but it seems to be lacking a bit in its fps offerings. Sure, we get enough fps games via disc based releases but it would be nice to get some bite sized adventures via the downloadable front.  Well today it looks like those who have wanted that are getting their wish as Ignition Entertainment and Zombie Studios have announced Blacklight: Tango Down, a new fps game exclusively for the PSN, XBLA and PC.

The PSN could be going old school with some NeoGeo games

The Wii and XBLA have a nice amount of old-school gaming goodness while the PS3 practically has none. Outside of a few Midway classics such as Mortal Kombat II and a few PS1 games the PSN has mostly been home to tons of original games. This of course has been due to Sony’s desire to push original and innovative content instead of sitting on their laurels but the PSN could be getting a bit of old school gaming in the near future.

PSN Down time causes 8001050F error and prevents games from loading.

If you’re trying to get onto PlayStation Network as of right now, sorry, it’s down. Many users of PSN have confirmed that the network is currently unavailable, with them receiving a 8001050F error message. That’s not all, many more issues have appeared, leaving PlayStation Network users are less than thrilled, voicing their frustration on forums around the net. Me being one of them.

The Japanese PSN is getting a Yakuza 4 demo

If you live outside of Japan and want to get a taste of the upcoming Yakuza 4 then make a JP PSN account as a demo will be released next Thursday.  Even though the demo will be in Japanese it’ll be nice to try out some of the latest antics the game offers.

Unlike some of the previous Yakuza demos that have been broken into parts to highlight specific elements, the Yakuza 4 demo will offer a comprehensive look at the various aspects of the game via the Story Mode and 4-Type Battle Mode.

Yakuza 3 demo announced

If you want to assume a role of a Japanese gangster immediately then you’re in luck as the PSN will be receiving a demo for Sega’s Yakuza 3 today. But before everyone starts to prep for their gangster adventure it needs to be noted that the demo has only been announced for the European PSN so far.  A North American release today is highly likely but just be ready to create an EU PSN account if it doesn’t.

The Behemoth provides Game 3 title: BattleBlock Theater

Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers are must-have titles for anyone that owns a PS3/Xbox. They are examples of some of the best downloadable titles out there to date. The Behemoth has a way of never disappointing when it comes to a quality download game, which is why when they announced they were working on another title I started to get excited.

Jet battles never looked this good: After Burner Climax premier trailer

I can’t think of a better way to start off a trailer than being backed with a loud, rocking, guitar-riff filled soundtrack. Right off the bat that makes the PSN/XBLA version of After Burner Climax already awesome and it also helps that the game looks like an absolute blast to play.

Get your dose of robot action with Thexder Neo HD for the PlayStation 3

For the launch of the PSP Go in October Square Enix went a bit old-school to release an updated version of the classic computer game Thexder. The PSP iteration appropriately called Thexder Neo featured the classic side-scrolling shooting Thexder gameplay of a robot who can transform into a jet Transformers style. Now Square Enix is bringing Thexder Neo to the PlayStation 3 this week with a few added bells and whistles.

Mega Man 10 achievements revealed

For all you gaming masochists out there, rejoice! Capcom has released the achievements list for Mega Man 10 and oh man is it a doozy.

SCEA announces Patchwork Heroes aka 100

The PSP may not have that many AAA games but Sony’s portable does have quite a few unique games many of which are developed by the talented bunch at SCEJ.  Back in November SCEJ announced their latest PSP game titled “100 million ton Bara Bara” or just “100” for short.  The title featured an impressive art style and visuals along with unique gameplay that revolved around destroying airships.  Now the PlayStatio

After Burner Climax console port confirmed and we could be getting it rather soon

We won’t have to wait long to take to the skies and see how many jets and missiles we can blow up as Sega has revealed that After Burner Climax is set for a spring release in Japan. Besides that awesome nugget of info Sega also confirmed that the game will be available both for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade so there’s no reason for anyone not to fulfill their Top Gun fantasies.

Here Are Your 8 Robot Masters for Mega Man 10

If you’ve been poking around the internet over the last couple of weeks you may have been compiling a list of the Robot Masters. Alternatively, you may have come across the scans posted online from the Japanese video game magazine CoroCoro that showed artwork for the 8 boss battles coming your way.

W!Games Show Off Mistbound in New Greed Corp Trailer

The recently announced PSN/XBLA/PC title “Greed Corp.” looks to have some of the most beautiful backgrounds and settings of any game I’ve ever seen. The game centers around corporations (go figure right?) that are mining materials off a world that is slowly disappearing into the mist (due to the long-term damage of greedy corporations).
