Star Wars and EA Could Be A Perfect Match

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away EA acquired the rights to publish Star Wars video games and in turn made the fantasies of gamers, movie fans, and self-professed geeks come to life. If such a thing occurred nearly a decade ago, back when EA was looked upon as a conglomeration of evil not unlike the Imperial Army, this news would've been one of disappointment, but now it’s a reality and actually good news all considered.

A bunch of malarkey may have transpired today considering it’s the fools parade that is April Fool’s Day, yet Square Enix has decided to get a bit serious. Battlefield 4 Debut Footage Shows Shooting, Explosions, and Forced Drama [Video]

As expected, EA went on to announce Battlefield 4 in a grand fashion last night to live up to the popularity the series has gained for the past decade or so.  The existence of a new Battlefield game isn’t too much of a shocker considering we’ve known about it since BF3 was released and it has been incessantly teased for the last week or so.

So other than not knowing how far DICE was aiming to push the visual bar and up the action, it was business as usual for the Battlefield franchise and that’s apparent in this rather dull gameplay footage.

Gran Turismo 6 May Not Appear On PlayStation 4 [Rumor]

Something could be amiss in the world of Gran Turismo which may not please the many members of the racing elite.  After the stumbling that Gran Turismo 5 went through in part to a shoddy online infrastructure and gamers being less than happy about certain elements, the next installment in Polyphony Digital’s ode to racing may arrive without the next-gen sheen that we all expected it would.

Assassin's Creed IV Details Leaked, Set To Include Assassin Pirates

Now on a yearly schedule like that of the Madden and Call of Duty series, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Ubisoft has a new Assassin’s Creed in the works.  The third entry, at least numbered entry, in the series had gamers in two distinct camps when it was released last year, yet here we are on the verge of yet another installment being prepped which appears to be more of the same.

User-Generated Content and The Advance Of The Video Game Industry

When compared to other forms of entertainment, the world of video games is easily on a higher chain of evolution compared to films/TV and even music.  Sure, the video game industry could take a few notes on things when it comes to business management, pushing indie games or learning how to adapt to tell more compelling stories, but rarely do we see a year in gaming that’s exactly like the year before it.
