A Special Xbox Character Could Be Coming To Mortal Kombat [Rumor]

Having platform specific characters for a fighting game is something that never really goes over well with gamers.  In some cases having character x appear on one console and not the other will lead to further fanboy battles and an audience that is slightly ticked off that they’re not receiving an additional combatant to master and own fools with online.

New Mortal Komabt Video Focuses on the Deadly X-Ray Moves + First Look at Goro!

The new Mortal Komabt goodness is usually reserved to debut on Friday aka Fatality Friday, but today we have a new video that is both revealing and jaw-droppingly violent in the way we all love.  Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm Studios is taking the next MK game back to a classic look and feel, but they have added a few new features, the most notable of which are the special X-Ray moves that can be pulled off.

Mortal Kombat Joins The Roster of EVO 2011

Shogun Gamer’s very own Casey White has been chronicling his journey at entering the EVO fighting game tournament in Las Vegas and perhaps I may enter the fray based on today’s news.  After being looked at as a casual fighting game for more than a decade, the upcoming entry of Mortal Kombat will be at EVO 2011 for the fighting masses to enjoy.

Mortal Kombat is finally dated + a new juggle heavy video featuring Mileena

The first half of 2011 is now officially the most front loaded year ever as WB Games and NetherRealm Studios have announced the official and final release date for Mortal Kombat. The ninth installment (writing that makes me feel like I’m 50) of the Mortal Kombat series will be available on the PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 19th.  Previously WB Games had given the new MK game an April release window but we didn’t have an exact date.

Find out why Mileena is a hot pyscho in this new Mortal Kombat video

Last week we were lucky enough to receive a video revolving around the hotness and psychosis of Mortal Kombat femme fatale Mileena.  She may be a looker and all but she’s a deadly fighter who can throw down with the best of them, you know despite the fact that she looks like a Playboy model.  So what made Mileena such a crazed murderer?  Did she have a bad date one time?

Two fan-favorite characters join the roster of Mortal Kombat

Much to the delight of Mortal Kombat fans across the globe and Shogun Gamer community member Solidus Godzilla, the mysterious and highly buxom fan favorite Jade will be one of the many combatants in the upcoming Mortal Kombat game.

Witness the skill and hotness of Mileena in this new Mortal Kombat video

Finally it’s Friday and that of course means the weekend is upon us. While I probably won’t be able to fully relax this weekend (projects galore on my end), other folks out there can enjoy their time off and have a night out on the town. But what would someone do if they had a date with the femme fatale that is Mileena from Mortal Kombat? Armed with a pair of Sai’s and a deadly pair of chompers beneath that veil, Mileena may not be the easier Mortal Kombat character to please, but the NetherRealm Studios staff gives it a shot in this latest video.

First footage of Sonya Blade featured in new episode of the MKast

A few days ago I was somewhat complaining about how we hadn’t gotten a single piece of media for the new Mortal Kombat featuring Sonya Blade.  Our friends over in Europe got some snazzy screens of Sonya’s new look in the game, but we were left with nothing – that is until now.  The final part of the epic four part Mortal Kombat MKast is now up and it includes the very first footage of Sonya Blade in action.

Another classic character joins the ranks of the new Mortal Kombat game

I don’t know why folks over in Europe are getting the lowdown on major Mortal Kombat roster additions, but I guess more power to them for getting the goods first. After we were privy to seeing the first images of Sonya Blade in the new Mortal Kombat, today’s MK character update brings us two pieces of goodness: the first in-game images of Kratos and the confirmation of Sindel as a playable character.

Mortal Kombat release date and Special Edition versions announced [UPDATED]

WB Games and NetherRealm Studios have announced when gamers can participate in the next brutal entry of Mortal Kombat and thankfully it’s not that far off.  Gamers who want to rip out spines, freeze their foes or impale dudes on spikes can do so when the new Mortal Kombat game is release in April.  An exact date in April hasn’t been announced, but NetherRealm has never shipped a core MK game late so I doubt we’ll see the game get bumped to another month.
