NetherRealm Studios (Mortal Kombat) Teasing Surprise Announcement

I may be setting myself for major disappointment, but Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon has teased of a surprise announcement relating to NetherRealm Studios, the wonderful place that has been making the MK games for the last twenty years.  Boon took to Twitter to tease of an “unexpected surprise” coming from NetherRealm Studios shortly.  Most MK fans know Boon can be a bit of a joker at times so what exactly could this “surprise” announcement be?

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Finally Gets Dated For Blu-ray and DVD

For the past two weeks I’ve been feeling a void of sorts in my life and that’s probably because I no longer have a new episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy to look forward to.  Mortal Kombat: Legacy definitely ended things with a bang since the final episode revolving around Cyrax and Sektor was exceedingly cool but at the same time was bittersweet since a 2nd series or movie still hasn’t been greenlit. But come this November we can enjoy some more Mortal Kombat: Legacy action thanks to the series arriving on Blu-ray and DVD.

The Action Comes To An End In Episode 9 Of Mortal Kombat: Legacy

Some of you out there may have forgotten about it, but Mortal Kombat: Legacy has finally come to a close. After giving us a terrific episode featuring Scorpion and Sub-Zero, MK: Legacy may have been out of action for almost two months, but the wait has definitely been worth it as seeing three cyborg ninjas beat the crap out of one another is as cool as it could be.

Mortal Kombat's Latest DLC Character Is Revealed And It May Cause Nightmares

With today being the first day of the San Diego Comic Con gamers were promised by WB Games and NetherRealm Studios that a special DLC announcement would be made for Mortal Kombat.  After receiving three veteran fighters (Skarlett, Kenshi, Rain) join the ranks through the wonder that is DLC it was a complete guess as to whom combatant number four would be.  Amongst the core MK community some had hoped we would see newer MK characters make an appearance like Tanya, Drahmin or perhaps even see a completely original character make their debut to the series.

One Final Tease For Mortal Kombat: Legacy And A Mortal Kombat DLC Teaser

Those that are lucky enough to attend the San Diego Comic Con this week will have the opportunity to do something incredibly cool: they can see the last episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy.  After waiting almost two months for the episode to air, Warner Premier will be airing the ninth and final episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy at a special MK panel being held this Thursday.  Focusing on the story of Lin Kuei ninjas Cyrax and Sektor, the episode will delve into how two men became soulless killing machine cyborgs.

Behold The Greatness Of Rain - The Latest DLC Kombatant For Mortal Kombat

Unlike other fighting games, the team at NetherRealm Studios has done a rather exceptional job at keeping a steady flow of DLC for Mortal Kombat.  While we may not be at the point in which we’re getting weekly DLC releases like we do for games like Rock Band, the fact that NetherRealm has provided two thrilling new DLC characters (Skarlet, Kenshi) roughly three months after the game was released is pretty cool in my eyes.

Concept Screens For The Kancelled Mortal Kombat HD Collection

One of the coolest rumors to come out in the past year was that a HD remake of the first three Mortal Kombat games was going to happen.  The rumor started up in the second half of last year and quickly picked up steam after several retailers listed the game and “inside sources” claimed that new actors were being cast to assume the roles of the MK cast, presumably to be digitized like the old-school MK games.  As the months went on we began to hear less and less about the HD Mortal Kombat collection and once the new Mortal Kombat game was released in April I think all of us began t

An Incredibly Cool Teaser Image For The Final Episode Of Mortal Kombat: Legacy

I think some people may have completely forgotten about this, but we have one more episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy left before the series is officially over.  The Scorpion/Sub-Zero two part episode may have seemed like it was a good way for the series to end, but we have one last adventure to see: the origins of Cyrax and Sektor aka Mustard and Ketchup.

Kenshi Joins Mortal Kombat And He Looks Amazing

Mortal Kombat may have a lot of characters who are 100% bonafide badasses, but none other is as cool as Kenshi, the blind swordsman introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deception.  There may not have been a huge amount of iconic characters released in the crop of MK games that came out for the PS2 generation, but Kenshi certainly left an impression on us and now he’s ready to jump into Mortal Kombat once more.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode 8 - More Scorpion vs. Sub-Zero Action

The thrilling conclusion to the Scorpion centric episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy has been released but does it deliver on the high hype levels we all had after the last episode?  After giving us a mere five second snippet of Scorpion and Sub-Zero engaging in battle, I do think the conclusion of the episode does deliver on giving us the core goods, but once again feels a bit rushed.
