I’ve grown quite fond of the off-road racing experience that is nail’d for one key reason: its fast arcade action. While it may not have the immediate level of general mayhem and destruction found in Motorstorm, nail’d is still fast and fun as hell.

When it comes to setting the mood for off-road racing the most logical choice is to include thrash metal music right? Well, head pounding metal music does fit given the context of off-road racing but I’m sure some out there would’ve preferred some buttery beats.  Those who love the hard guitar riffs of metal music should be pleased that the upcoming racing game nail’d is going the metal route with its soundtrack. In fact, nail’d may end up having the most metal video game soundtrack released this year.

If for some unimaginable reason Motorstorm Apocalypse doesn’t float your boat when it comes to off-road vehicular racing then perhaps nail’d will satisfy you. Nail’d is a brand spanking new racing IP which is coming to us from Southpeak Games and Deep Silver, who up until now hadn’t released a racing game before. Yes, the name is somewhat silly and seems like it belongs to something else besides a game; perhaps a “special” movie of some sort many of you may come across in your non video game website browsing.

We’re never in short supply of racing games and today yet another one was announced.  At this point it’s a bit futile to even release a racing game in this market since the standards are so high thanks to games like Gran Turismo and Burnout.  But the newly announced arcade racer “nail’d” from Deep Silver/SouthPeak Games could have a shot at becoming the next big thing.
