Some Exclusive Xbox 360 Items Are Dished Out In The MGS HD Collection

Metal Gear Solid and Microsoft have never had an extremely good relationship compared to the relationship Sony has with Konami/Kojima Productions but that may be slowly changing. Aside from Konami warming up to Microsoft slowly through things such as debuting titles such as MGS: Rising at Microsoft events, Kojima Productions is finally giving Xbox 360 gamers some exclusive MGS goodness.  The only catch being is that said goodness comes in the form of Xbox 360 Avatar items.

Konami Caters To MGS Fans, Announces Limited Edition Version Of MGS HD Collection

Knowing the dedication of their fanbase, Konami has announced that they will be releasing a Limited Edition version of the forthcoming Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.  The Limited Edition version of MGS’s HD makeover won’t include any additional games beyond those included on the disc (MGS2, MGS3, MGS: Peace Walker) but it will include two things gamers find hard to pass up: exclusive box art and a special art book.

Hideo Kojima Releases Some Fresh Screens Of MGS2 - HD Edition

Today we have a reveal from Hideo Kojima that we can fully appreciate without any sort of hidden subtext thrown in: new screens of Metal Gear Solid 2 – HD Edition.  Last week was a good time to be a MGS fan since we received our first screens of MGS2 & MGS3 along with new screens showing off the HD upgrade given to MGS: Peace Walker.  But the real cherry on top of everything was the walkthrough video

Debut Footage Of MGS3 HD Edition Looks Beautiful

Yesterday we received some glorious images proving that HD Collections can be a good thing as the MGS HD Collection simply looked superb.  The first major media reveal of the HD upgrade being given to MGS2, MGS3 and MGS: Peace Walker, the screens looked glorious but of course looking at a still image never conveys the same awe that is to be had from seeing something in motion. To give MGS fans one last treat to celebrate Gamescom, Konami and Kojima Productions have released a new video showing off the HD upgrade MGS3 has received.

Fresh Images From The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection

Whether or not the sudden surge in developers creating HD collections of old games is a sign of a lack of imagination is yet to be seen.  So far we haven’t seen too many publishers jump on the HD remix/collection bandwagon and the titles released thus far have mostly been for games people care about such as Tomb Raider or God of War.  Sure, seeing a company release a HD collection may be a way for a few easy bucks to be made but in the case of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection I don’t think people really care as long as the games are good and faithful to the originals.
