Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Hideo Kojima Comments On MGS5, Doesn't Say Much

There’s been recent hubbub as of late concerning Hideo Kojima’s "reveal" that MGS5 will happen and that he’s working on it. The news itself came from a legit source as Kojima partook in an interview with OPM UK and apparently said as much.  Well once again we have a case of Euro game journos being a bit too excited and Kojima kind of trolling us with MGS news.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising Receives Staff Change

Metal Gear Solid: Rising is set to make another public debut next month via the Spike Video Game Awards, but we have our first major piece of info on the project.  It would’ve been nice if we received some wholly good news concerning the new Metal Gear spin-off such as further explanation of the plot and core game mechanics but that sadly isn’t the case. Instead of potential Rising goodness that doesn’t include confirmation on more fruits Raiden and slice up, Kojima Productions has confirmed the Producer on the title has been replaced.

First Crop Of Games Premiering At The Spike Video Game Awards 2011 Are Revealed

It’s close to that special time of year in which we get a few surprises that we weren’t expecting at all. No, I’m not talking about receiving a holiday specific present but instead receiving our first look at brand new video games and eagerly anticipated sequels thanks to the Spike Video Game Awards.  A tradition in the video game biz for the last few years, the Spike VGAs can always be assured to give us a few key things: horrible “comedy”, world premier trailers, and an almost unnecessary amount of dudebro content which may or may not include women prancing around in bikinis.

Small Metal Gear Solid: Rising image shows off Raiden

Perhaps a sign that the game will have some sort of showing at E3, box art for Metal Gear Solid: Rising has surfaced via Xbox Live Marketplace.  The box art gives us a better look of Raiden who still looks different compared to his MGS4 appearance. The spine holding, heroic pose and big ass gun strapped on his back once again show that Raiden isn’t to be messed with, even if he has girly hair.

Hideo Kojima is moving to a different project

As we get closer to E3 2010 that means only one thing: regular news stories concerning Hideo Kojima and his mystery projects.  Last week Kojima gave us a brief update on his next project which is currently in the research phase.  Then Kojima made the bold comment that if his next project fails he would leave the industry. That’s as likely to happen as me not eating pizza for an entire month.
