Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Fresh Images From The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection

Whether or not the sudden surge in developers creating HD collections of old games is a sign of a lack of imagination is yet to be seen.  So far we haven’t seen too many publishers jump on the HD remix/collection bandwagon and the titles released thus far have mostly been for games people care about such as Tomb Raider or God of War.  Sure, seeing a company release a HD collection may be a way for a few easy bucks to be made but in the case of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection I don’t think people really care as long as the games are good and faithful to the originals.

E3 Megaton Announcement #1: Konami & Kojima Productions Reveal MGS HD Collection and Zone of the Enders HD Collection

Today has been rather interesting for a few reasons, the biggest of which is how the Konami pre-E3 press conference turned out to be a bit of a bust.  Instead of dishing out a live press conference filled with a bunch of snafus and Japanese developers totally going ape shit crazy on stage, Konami opted to go with a pre-recorded presentation featuring segments dedicated to specific games like MGS 3: 3DS Edition and Never Dead.  The event, which has some cool moments (Silent Hill: Downpour and Never Dead may actually be good) but the biggest reveal belongs to none other than Hideo K

Konami Announces New Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Clothing Line

The reach of the Metal Gear Solid franchise has no boundaries as we’ve seen products for the franchise range from affordable action figures, high-end statues, limited edition clothing and even MGS branded food (which sadly was exclusive to Japan).  Once again the MGS franchise is reaching out to gamers who want to express their fandom of the series by wearing t-shirts and clothing that aren’t of a Hot Topic quality. Instead, if you want what appears to be high-end clothes based on MGS then you may want to check out what Konami has announced today.

Sony Metal Gear Solid W-Series Walkman [Product Review]

Overall Feeling:

The Metal Gear Solid W-Series Walkman isn’t a shameless tie-in product as it’s an excellent MP3 player. Featuring good sound quality and a small size that makes it easy to transport, the W-Series Walkman is an absolute steal if you're looking for a new MP3 and wish to expand your MGS collection.

The Pros:

The sound quality is superb. Even though they may be camouflage, the design of the headphones is very nice and aren’t cumbersome or awkward to wear. Having five songs from the MGS Peace Walker soundtrack is a very nice bonus. Really good portability and battery life. The 2GB storage space is nice given the compact size of the headphones.

The Cons:

During long listening sessions the earbuds can become a tad uncomfortable. The headphones may not have enough of an MGS theme for some. It would’ve been nice if a small bag or case was included to store the headphones when not in use. Rating :

Even though video games are massively popular it’s still surprising to see the type of products or cross promotions that are created for big franchise games. One video game franchise that has always maintained a fair level of consistency amongst their products has been Metal Gear Solid.  Despite being one of the most popular and recognized video games ever created, MGS has kept things relatively low key with the standard action figures, limited edition t-shirts and a few themed peripherals.

MGS: Peace Walker's Big Boss Gets Toy Treatment

I’m a big fan of video game toys; the earlier post of Laura in “Snow Day” should have let you know that. But if you still weren’t sure of my lust for video game figures, then maybe this will turn you.

QuarterSave: The Innis and Gunn Blue Box Special EP31

Corey and I realized recently that it's been a while since there's been an off-the-beaten-path drink review segment on the show. It was time to rectify that issue, and we did so with the aid of a Triple Aged bottle of Innis and Gunn each. Well, maybe we decided to do the beer review just because Corey brought them over anyways, and I was a little excited. Either way you get to reap the benefits!

Metal Gear Sellout, Snake Gets Sponsored

Metal Gear Solid Sellout… I meant Peace Walker has been steadily announcing some of the partnerships made for the game throughout the week. Some of them have been interesting, and provide a little bit of extra goodness to the game. The Monster Hunter levels are a unique little tie-in, and great promotion for both games that’s no worse than the old “Snake vs. Monkey” mode.

[Video] This is what Monster Hunter looks like in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

You may have already seen our article on the MGS: Peace Walker/Monster Hunter collaboration that simply looks awesome.  Well if looking at some screens wasn’t enough to sell you on the concept or left you wanting for more, this new trailer showcasing the mash-up of franchises should please you.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker gets a Monster Hunter mode

We know that the Metal Gear Solid franchise can be a bit wacky. And no, I’m not referring to the sometimes convoluted storylines involving A.I. programs or the various supernatural elements. I’m more so referring the silly nature the series can take with stuff like the famous Snake vs. Monkey mode in MGS3.

Interesting new attacks in Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker

From the Weird and Weirder files comes a piece of information about Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker of such bewilderment upon reading, operation of heavy machinery is ill advised. This is what Konami had to say yesterday:
